Every Monday morning here in SE Alabama, there is a local talk show that focuses on the Tide and Auburn. This morning they played small samples from a Sooner radio show. A lot of the audio samples were from interviewing Sooner fans and looking toward the NC. Most of them had to say something like this...."as long as we don't play LSU, we should be ok". Also, the Tide fans here are talking about how much faster and how much more physical LSU is compared to Oklahoma. I know this doesn't mean cr@p, but I just though you guys would wanna hear some of the local talk in Tide country.
I've heard similar comments made by Sooner fans here in Texas, but it has more to do with them not being able to get tickets than a real fear of LSU. I just want to get there first, then spend 3 weeks smaking with those guys. They have no earhtly idea what's in store for them should it be Oklahoma-LSU. From the second they step on the tarmac in New Orleans through the game itself, they'll hear "Tiger Bait" and see enough purple and gold around the city to last 50 lifetimes. It'll redefine the concept of "home-field advantage", believe me.
I just could not imagine what the New Orleans, and most of the state of La. for that matter, would be like if that game would take place. I believe everyone agrees that LSU and USC would be the only two that would give Oklahoma a match. If Ohio State wins this weekend, they will be in for a humungous embarrassing in the Sugar Bowl.
Ohio State can't score offensive TDs against Purdue, and Michigan State, could you imagine against OU or our D???
I just joined OU's fan board to see what they are saying. There are 6 people logged on, and 3 of them are TIGER fans!!! LOL They do not talk much about LSU much that I have seen, but I will keep yall posted. I am posting under mesquite tiger there as well in case you decide to drop by.
by the way Brett, I put www.tigerforums.com as my signature on that board. hopefully you do not mind...if you do email me and I will change it. It is on OU Boards.
If LSU can't play OK for the NC, I want OSU to so they can be slaughtered and all of their weaknesses exposed. They don't score an offensive touchdown and win ... and allegedly this is enough for them to leap frog USC in the BCS ? What a crock ! (however, not the croc on the cover of the Gators 2003 media guide, a different one)
This morning on the local radio show that I mentioned above, the host went nuts over Ohio St and how they are the luckiest team that he has ever seen in the past 40 years of college football. Here is a guy, a true Auburn and Tide fan (yea, some around here are both), and is absolutely slaughtering Ohio St. via the airwaves. He has nothing against the school itself, just their endless stream of luck. He actually said he hopes Michigan 'drills' Ohio State. They're also pulling for an LSU/Ok game bigtime here.
Heck....Ohio State even stole the national championship last year from Miami! Just another gift under their never endless Christmas Tree. By the way, has anyone been to one of their boards lately? What are they saying?
