A couple of weeks ago the media was claiming that this Oklahoma team was the best in the history of college football. They are definitely deserving to be in the NC game with us. I had much rather play USC any day than the Sooners. I don't think USC could even beat Ole Miss, Florida, or Georgia. By far, the two best teams will play in the Sugar Bowl.
Well being a Sooner fan & a true cajun living in Oklahoma I wish you the best.Don't let the K-St win cloud how good the Sooners are.Remember the Sooners Killed two teams in the big 12 that beat K-St.Now before you all jump on me, let me say that this is the best LSU team I have seen since Billy Cannon. But at the same time I think this is the best Sooner team I may have ever seen.If your basing the Sooners hold season on the K-St win than forget it.We as fan's can talk all we want.We have the two best coaches in the USA.We both have Great defense & great talent. Thats why we play this game. This game was a dream of mine from midseason.I love both schools.I was born in S La & raised in Okla most of my life.I plan on retirement in La.I can't lose on this game. But let me tell you this.I'm a HUGE Sooner fan.I have followed then since Bud Wilkerson,Berry & now Bob.This maybe the best Sooner team I have seen in my life time when they play up to were they can. This Sooner team knew they did not have to win the big 12 to play for the NC.K-St played there A game & the Sooner's played there C.Mike Stoops took the AZ job the week leading in to the big 12 championship.Look for the same Sooner team to show up in the Big Easy that played all year.It will be a dog fight & no one that beleaves other wise is a fool.I'm not saying the Tigers can't prevail, home team advanage & all.But it won't be as easy as some of you think, if you do?That's why we play this game & who ever win's this one is the TRUE NC no matter what the prun pickers preclaim.Boomer Sooner. .www.crimsonreign.com
It's not going to be an easy game, but OU should have been left out of the national championship. The whole system is in disarray and LSU, or even OU for that matter, is staring down the barrel of a split championship. That would be due to, in part, the fact that the wrong team is in the Sugar. Should have been USC. OU may be better, what do I know, but they got whacked in their last regular season game and couldn't even win their conference as a result. They shouldn't be in this game. Disagree if you want, but most of the country believes this for a reason and I CONCUR!
There is word for those who approach football games counting on an easy victory and we all know what that word is. I expect the Sugar Bowl to be an extroidinarily tough game, and that both teams will come with their best games. I am sure there is not one man on LSU's team that does not expect as hard fought a struggle as they have ever been in. If OU does not expect the same and come prepared for it as well they will not enjoy the outcome. Having said that, it is inexplicible to me that OU could have been as pitiful in its Conference Championship Game as it was. The first thought I had about it ran to the talk that they had such a BCS lead that they could lose and still get in, but that really doesn't explain much. No doubt the Sooners have been expecting to be in the Sugar Bowl for some weeks before the KState game, they could have laid down any time, why that particular game which did have a championship riding on it.? KState is no slouch, granted, but they did not just win, they blew OU out! I don't have a clever explanation for that game, but it seems the stock excuse that they believed they could go to the Sugar Bowl irregarless seems a little thin.
I don't understand how people can claim OU does not belong when they are favored to win! Isn't the game supposed to match the two best teams in the country? I don't have excuses for what happened in the Big XII Championship but I don't need them because the BCS still has OU as the top team, something that the vast majority of America must still believe. What I think has caused the most problem is the AP and Coaches have USC ranked ahead of LSU. OU should drop in the polls, heck even to #3 since that is what the voters want to do, but isn't LSU better than USC? I have to say LSU's victories are more impressive to me. Regardless, I know OU belongs in the Sugar and I believe the right opponent was placed opposite the Sooners. Good luck and, Boomer Sooner!!
Oklahomer has seen 1 Top 25 defense all year ... KSU @ #7 Oklahomer has seen 1 SEC Defense all year ... Alabama @ #40 Now ... what were those outcomes. We're all convinced with Homer's logic ... OU is entitled to a "Mulligan", KSU, based on their sterling performance all season. And, don't they get another "Mulligan" on the Back Nine in the SuperDome ... or is it 1 Mulligan per half ... hmmmmmmmmmm Blind Owl ....... you are deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelightful
