Ok, since the OU Band only knows one song, I have a suggestion. I really thought Rocky Top was bad until i saw a sooner game on TV. So in honor of the Bengal Brass band at the SEC Womens Basketball Tourny. (we kept a rocky top tally on the other band, which eventually ticked their fans off kept them from playing it) I think someone should keep a tally on their band at the Sugar Bowl and post it afterwards here so we can know. Much to my dismay, I will be with the band, and because of this, and it being football and not basketball, we will not be sporting any signs on posterboards. But it would be funny to see someone in the crowd doing it!
Do you mind terribly if the Pride of Oklahoma plays the school fight song during the game? Is that alright? They do play a good number of other songs but they will play the fight song about 132 times - you will know it well by the time the game is over. It is one of the greatest fight songs in all of college football and I guarantee you it will be ringing in your ears for several days. It's our go juice. If you actually hate Oklahoma why don't you just come out and say so? We do not hate LSU. We admire LSU greatly and consider it a privilege to play against you. The better the competition the better OU will play and LSU is great competition. Good luck and may the best team win.
OK SBird. He didn't say he hated OU. He just thought that playing the same song ad nauseum was a little irritating vis-a-vis UT and RockyTop. I believe he was attempting to influence the OU Band to display its full repertoire. After the first 25 times, we are confident that you have the tune memorized and can play without the sheet music...
I so hate Rocky Top. The play the song on first down, second down, third down, fourth down, and touchdowns. It pathetic that they can't come up with different songs for other downs. Somebody should make a creative sign to keep track of the count during the game.
