    As of right now:

    1) Georgia - flying under everyone's radar
    2) LSU - battle tested early on and starting to gel, will win SEC west
    3) Alabama - Impressive against overrated gators team, just no depth
    4) Florida - Leake will win a lot of games for this team but Urban can't
    5) Tennessee - Sorry, no more gift-wrapped defensive schemes from opponents

    1. Georgia- this team will win the east and possibly the sec

    2. bama- I am still not convinced on them, but they are undefeated

    3. Lsu- we should be #1, but Miles is still an unproven leader

4.Uf- we better beat teh crap out of these gators

5.au- this team may be flying under the readar as well, and we better not take them for granted

There are six contenders in the SEC, why leave one out?

    1. Alabama - Some fine starters looking very good so far. I still think lack of depth may keep them out of the SECCG. Its a long season yet.

    2. Tennessee - I think the lack of a top-flight QB is Tennessee's limiting factor. Still they are big, strong, and fast and will probably rule the east.

    3. LSU - The hurricane distractions and starting against two top-15 teams instead of the usual cupcakes had LSU looking shakey, but I expect steady improvement and and a SECCG shot.

    4. Auburn - Still hasn't played any contenders. Great potential, but a lot of unanswered questions. I think AU will rise on this list and Bama will fall.

    5. Florida - Talented, but inconsistent. Still they will win a lot of games.

    6. Georgia - Big-time overrated. They haven't played any contenders either. They will lose 3 or 4.

These Auburn guys aren't giving Bama much respect. As of right now, I don't see anyway to not rank Bama first in the SEC. If Bama stays healthy (a very big if), they will win the SECCG. The season is young yet & we shall see how well this team can hold up, even a few minor knicks to their lines could be a huge advantage to their opposing team.

I say Georgia, Tennessee and LSU are all tied. Georgia is overrated. I still have them picked to win the East, but as of right now, they aren't playing very good ball. They will drop 2. For Tennessee, if they can get their QB controversy settled - they have the strong lines to make a very good season. Right now, it's just wait & see if Clausen/Ainge can be a consistent leader. Make no mistake about it, the Tennesse team that played us was 10 times better than that played Florida (it wasn't just them taking advantage of our defensive schemes). LSU has the most potential to become great this season. A strange beginning to the season and new coaching staff has lead to a bumpy start, but with normalcy returning this week we might just see some serious improvement on this LSU team.

I have to put Auburn ahead of Florida right now. This Auburn team has made drastic improvements and will continue to grow. I must say I'm actually fairly impressed by ole Tubberville being able to bring this team along. Florida lacks depth and the players to fit the scheme. Who knows if Meyer will be able to build a great team at Florida, but this year isn't it.

Speaking only for myself, Bama came out geeked-up and beat the stuffing our of an over-hyped Florida team. I would expect some LSU fans to see it differently simply because because UF beat UT. My initial list was based on where I believe the teams will finish the year, not necessarily on where I would rank them today.

Like Auburn, Bama has not played the meat of their schedule yet. They have beaten one good team (Auburn has beaten no good teams yet). They still have UT, LSU, and Auburn on the schedule. With the loss of Prothro, Bama has lost nearly 1/3 of it's entire offensive production for the season. Not that disimilar to the impact that the loss of Caldwell had on UF, don't you think?

    Prothro total production:
    691 yds - 1st on team (138.1/game)
    92yds rushing - 3rd on team (Darby 1/Coffee 2).
    325yds receiving - 1st
    81yds punt returns - 1st
    193yds kick-off returns - 1st

    Bama Total : 2350 yds (Prothro = 30%)

UT will have a tough defense to crack this Saturday when Georgia comes to visit. With the Georgia linebackers healthy, the Vols will have a tough time running the ball. Richt appears to be happy that Clausen is the guy they have to defend against.

That game should go a long way to decide the SEC East.
I just want the Dawgs to win, but I would not be surprised to see them win big.

Bama without Prothro is a question mark... I hope they still beat up on the Vols.

    UGA
    LSU
    Bama
    AU
    UF
    UT
    Vandy
    SC
    MSU
    MS
    ARK
    KY

    :hihi:

My Top 5 pretty much stick with the AP rankings, except my #1 & #2

    1. BAMA is #1 now until the LSU game, and AU's only prayer this year is that you play them 1 week after we do. It won't matter, you play GA the week before ALA and you lose. BAMA will likely beat UT at Tuscaloosa and be 9-0 for LSU. A 9-0 Bama against an 8-1 LSU will be the game of the year!

THE TIDE IS BACK! BAD NEWS FOR AU & Fans!

    2. Georgia, until the Tennessee game, if they win, they're #1 with Bama!
    3. Tennessee, must beat UGA at home and go to BAMA :dis:
    4. LSU, looking for confidence and taking it one game at a time now!
    5. Tie, FLA & Auburn (Neither has a shot at the Top 10 for a while) both will have at least 2 losses
