Russell was a monster Saturday night. I do not think I've ever seen anyone... period.... that can make the throws he can. What a specimen of pure physical talent.

True that. A few are still suicidal over the Tennessee loss last year.:hihi:

Jamarcus Russell is a big man who can see the field very well. He is 15-2 as a starter and has a rocket arm and the ability to throw it 45 yards with a flick of his wrist. I've never seen a QB who can roll out right and then throw the ball left, off the wrong foot, and still hit any spot on the field.

He's mostly a drop-back and roll out passer. He's not very mobile as a running QB, but his long stride enables him to evade pressure long enough to find an open receiver.

He's a junior now and has learned how to read defenses and check off at the line. If he has a weakness, it is locking onto a receiver with his eyes and tipping the play to a smart DB. He didn't get any pressure from ULL, but last year he took too many sacks by not throwing theball away quick enough. I expect he's learned that lesson, too.

Now, . . . when our reserve quarterbacks get into the game, there will be a serious running threat added.

If our reserve QB gets into the game, I think it is pretty safe to say no fan of Arizona will see it, As we will be up by enough points to make them turn off their TV or leave the stadium.

Tulane is our traditional in-state rival, but the enthusiam dropped off after they left the SEC 40+ years ago and lost 25-straight games to us. We don't even play them annually anymore.

Our hottest current rivalry is with Auburn with whom we dominate the SEC West Division in the 21st Century. Auburn is always a must-win if we are to go to the SEC championship game.

I just want to say thank you to all of the posters who have answered my questions. I hope we play a good game against you and that neither team has any injuries. Good luck and beat AUBURN!!!
