i see you have "no taunting VT fans"...you'll get the occasional tiger baitbut its all in good fun, depending on how you handle it, shortly there after you'll be invited to the tailgate for food and cold beverages. you'll have a good time, trust me.

I doubt anyone will be taunting VT fans after what you guys had to go through this past semester.

I also expect a close well fought game and if there's one game on the schedule that worries me it's this one. Our offense is going to take time to gel with a new QB, two starting WRs gone, and almost an entirely new offensive coaching staff. And your defense is very very good. Should be a great game, can't wait for it.

Dang, I saw the thread title and thought OKIE was planning a road trip. I started thinking, I can make OKC and convoy or hitch a ride to one of your games. Oh well.....

Welcome to the board, Hokie. Enjoy the game. Check the stadium map link below to see a view of the field from your seats.

    GAME DAY INFO:
If you come at least five hours early you will find plenty of free parking. The north side LSU lots are small and fill up quickly. Avoid parking in the high-crime neighborhood to the north of campus, the better parking is on the south side anyway. If you run late, the big free grass lots off the river road aren't that far from the stadium, but the post-game traffic sucks.

Try these links for maps and info:

We eat good in Baton Rouge. There is some damn good food in this town, especially seafood. Mike Andersons, Parrains, Drusilla Seafood, and Ralph & Kacoos are the most popular. All will be crowded on game weekends but you can get in with a reasonable wait, they are used to it.

TJ Ribs is especially good at moving a crowd through on game day and serves fine BBQ. Good off-campus Bar & Grills abound. The Chimes, Walk-on's, The Pastime, Georges, Ivars, Sammy's and Brewbachers are all great LSU bars with good food. Juban's is kind of upscale but has the finest Creole cuisine in town. Boutin's for Cajun cuisine and music.

And don't forget 24-hour breakfast at Louie's Cafe, a classic just-off-campus diner with the best omelettes and burgers in town.

There is no shortage of night clubs in BR, many with live music. The Varsity Theatre and The Caterie are close to campus. Don't forget there are two riverboat Casinos downtown for fun and excitement. And The Big Easy is only an hour away . . .

Nobody will ever agree on who has the best tailgate at at a Tiger game, but the Krewe of Ragoo is easily the most famous.

Game-Day traditions: Go see Mike the Tiger's new habitat, our live Bengal Tiger Mascot. There is usually a Jambalaya stand nearby, you should try some. The LSU Tiger Band marches down the hill to Tiger Stadium well before the game and it is something to see and hear. It will be crowded, but the crowd response is part of the show.

Taunting? Better get used to it, Breaux, this is the SEC. You will hear the TIGERBAIT taunt about 600 times on game day. It's meant to be a friendly challenge, don't be threatened by it, we don't actually feed people to the tiger. The proper response is to just smile and toss back a counter-taunt (Boomer Sooner, Roll Tide, etc.) then ask what it is that you smell and you will likely be offered a beer and some food.

Try out Mansur's on the Boulevard. I think it is now the best food in town. Juban's is great but I think Mansur's has passed them by. I might be a little biased since one of my best friends is the executive chef there. He changed up the menu a bit and created his own dishes. Stop by if any of yall havent been there in awhile. :thumb:

If you enjoy that then you can stop by our tailgate where he will have cooked a feast for us in the nice shade under the East Upper Deck. I bring the Swamp Frog and 300 Jello Shots and my wife brings a side dish usually.

head to perkins off of acadian thruway and go to the caterie for a burger also roul's right outside the north gates of LSU is another great burger in your area.

if you're in the mood for seafood you can also turn on perkins and hit parrain's.

there's a mexican fusion restaurant called mestizo's right by you. and george's and ivar's underneath the perkins overpass for some good bar food.

the chimes is a great LSU tradition right outside the north gates as well.

they're are casinos downtown but i haven't been to them in a while.

our talgating crew tailgates on tower dr across from the union and parade grounds. (we are actually going to have a few hokies around that day) you may have to handle about 10 seconds of good natured taunting before we fill you full of alcohol, jambalaya, and fried hokies, oops i mean turkeys.:thumb:
