Poche's in Breaux Bridge is the best. Whenever I visit family in Lafayette, I pick up about 10lbs of it. Can't go wrong there. It's about 10-15 minutes off the interstate. I'm not sure of the directions, but you can go to TheRealYellowPages.com to get the address and use Mapquest from there. You won't regret it.

The Best Stop at the Scott/Cankton Exit. Head north about a mile and it's on the left. Best in the area.

You guys are all on crack...Everyone knows that Jerry Lee's Quick Stop on Greenwell Springs Road in BR/Central...is the BEST BOUDIN AND HOGSHEAD CHEESE IN THE WORLD...

I have had lots of boudin from lots of places...I honestly consider myself somewhat of a conniseur...but Jerry Lee's usurps, divides, and conquers ALL in this category...

Man I forgot about that one at the Scott exit. That stuff is good. I've got some of that in my freezer also. Can't go wrong there either.

Cracklin' B&G grocery ville platte. Anybody here still make their own. My dad was telling me as a kid that they made all their own cracklin' and sausage among other things. He said the only part he could never used to is the sound the pig makes when you stab it. He said he can still remember running into the house and sticking his fingers in his ears the first time he witnessed it as a small boy. I love some good hot pork sausage. Charlie's meat market on chestnut in mamou has some good sausage.

My OU friends....I guess it would all be dependant upon which route you take to NO. I'm thinking the I-35 to I-635 to I-20 to I-49 to I-10 route would be fastest and shortest....don't stop anywhere north of Alexandria for your cajun culinary delights. Wait for, and drive to where the good stuff is. I'm sure there is good boudin all along the drive from Alexandria south to Lafayette...and then again east to BR and NO.

Just remember, if you are going to the Best Stop and are traveling on I-49, you must take I-10 West to get to the Scott/Cankton exit. It's a little out of the way, but worth it. Their boudin kicks ass.
