Finally someone comes out and says it and you know Gordon Gee will back it up. I wish all schools would enforce zero tolerance. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/ncaa/07/13/ohiost.president.ap/index.html
Re: Ohio State new President Gordon Gee promises zero tolerance for Athletes misbehav Zero tolerance has always been a great phrase. Short, easy to remember and sounds tough. But zero tolerance usually means using zero judgment. Schools need to treat players fairly and justly--not giving them a pass because they need them for the team, but also not treating them more harshly than other students just because they are higher profile. Tolerance can actually be a good thing, especially when dealing with people who may be physically adult but not yet mentally adult.
Re: Ohio State new President Gordon Gee promises zero tolerance for Athletes misbehav I agree and don't like that catch-all phrase either. The surest way to be unfair is to be consistent.......you have to look at each situation and can't pigeon hole situations that arise from human interactions..........each has a unique set of circumstances.
