Kirk Herbstreet needs a good tongue lashing....He has something personal against LSU an for some reason can ALWAYS find a way to bash our performance. He really should think about giving LSU some credit esp. after he's been wrong in his predictions on the UGA, MSU, and now AU games. OMG what i would do to get a hold of his email address. And dont even get me started on Trev Alberts. If you ask me he's got pickle up his ass or something. He's talking about how Jawjuh is still the best team in the SEC... **NEWSFLASH** THEY BEAT UAB BY 3 PTS!!!!! AND THEY LOST TO US Watch....the tigers will keep it up...and everyone will be biting there tongue.
how sweet will that day be ......just like winning another game. They will get theirs in the end. Watch we will get to the SECCG and they will go against LSU. LSU will win in the GA dome they have not lost in the GA Dome. ( I think ) anyway .... what doesnot kill you makes you strong .... this espn thing is making our team, coaches, fans stronger.... We can over come the na sayers (sp?) LSU keeps positive along with the fans we will be victorious in every respect.... HANG in TIGAH FANS....... They will eat crow soon enough
what doesnt he say....Herbstreet continues to believe that LSU was not the better team in the UGA game and blames the loss on UGA's ability to capitalize on field goals. He never commented on how we shut Pollack down and how there only score was on a 80something yard play. Says nothing about how we woulda scored more had Mauck not fumbled in the red zone. for the MSU situation he kept saying how LSU always loses the game after a big win.... And he completely ignored the statistics going into the Auburn game, just commenting on how strong of a back Cadillac was and how awesome AU's db's were, not recognizing the #1 ranked run defense in the nation and how against top ranked defenses Auburn cant get the job done. Sooner or later he'll come around...and if he doesnt....he'll just look like a jackass on natl television
I, too, am often appalled week in and week out by some of the things mark may, trev alberts, and herbstreit say. They are extremely reluctant to give any praise to LSU in any aspect of any game, and are rather quick to point out excuses for the other team. I am going to work on a compilation of quotations from these idiots and hopefully post it later on today....if someone has more time than me, they can easily be found in the ESPN archives. ...... but on the other hand, you have 5 fingers
If Notre Dame or Boston College had the same exact same stats as LSU, the sports media would not be able to contain themselves. Hell, they would be ready to give 'LaVoyAye' the Lombardi award right now. However, I agree with many on the board that it's better to fly under the radar. November should be an interesting month for the BCS rankings.
It really bothered me at the start of the season, and after the Georgia game. But there is nothing anyone doexcept for the our team and for them to keep winning. It wouldn't hurt if they could give LSU a little credit though, it is not like all these teams we are playing are beating themselves. I'm sure they don't feel UAB beat themselves though, Georgia just had another off day and was good enough to pull it out.
As I began my quest to find many examples of anti-LSU propaganda by alberts, may, and herbstreit, i came across this first..... J.J. (Houston): Georgia, Schmeorgia. How bout dem Tigers?! Trev Alberts: First of all, I thought LSU had a great gameplan and executed it perfectly. But if Georgia played LSU on a neutral field, they would beat them 8 out of 10 times. It was a very unusual day for Georgia. To have WRs drop ball after ball. Greene wasn't scared or not poised, his WRs just dropped the balls. They ran up and down the field with more yards than LSU. LSU did not manhandle Georgia. If that is what you are thinking, you are in for a long season. Head to head, Georgia is still the best team in the SEC. Matt (Auburn, AL): Hey Kirk, could you briefly give your thoughts on the Auburn/LSU game this weekend. Thanks Kirk Herbstreit: WIth all the injuries LSU has in the backfield, I couldn't believe the effort by those freshman last week. That will have to continue against a much better defense this week. To me because both defenses play so well against the run, which QB has more success will determine the winner. .......which made me realize that I made the mistake of falling into trap of making the generalizational comments that always make me gag on these message boards...such as "all auburn fans have mullets and live in trailers"....or seen on auburns board: "all LSU fans date their relatives and are criminals and baton rouge is a shithole and the campus is trashy"..... So instead of wasting my time trying to prove that everything alberts, may, and herbstreit say is because they hate us, I will instead say that these three are simply paid to make comments about college football, and often these are comments made strictly for ratings, or for making their counterpart argue against them, which is the nature of these sports broadcasts...So we can not give much merit to anything that they say. I agree it is better to fly under the radar. So sit back, and get mad at them when they dog us if you have to. But also keep an ear for the fact that sometimes they do give credit to us, and sometimes the points they make do have some sense to them. To conclude I will incude some other articles by other prominent sportswriters/personalities that actually praise LSU and its football team....enjoy them.... http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/6670835 http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2003/writers/stewart_mandel/09/20/lsu.insider/index.html and finally, from CNNSI's Mandel: "I'd been warned prior to my first visit to Baton Rouge that the legendary Death Valley mystique was a myth. That assessment couldn't have been more wrong. Tiger Stadium was as loud as any I've ever heard during the dramatic fourth quarter of Saturday's Georgia game, the festivities surrounding it as advertised. The streets were lined with purple and gold. Smoke emanated from the grills in the parking lot. Shouts of "Go Tigers" and "Tiger Bait" echoed from the stadium deep into the heart of campus. And that was just Friday night. It's funny how we keep getting mixed messages about the importance of home-field advantage in college football. I have no doubt LSU's crowd played a role in Georgia's offensive struggles Saturday, and Autzen Stadium surely contributed to Oregon's upset of Michigan. But at the same time, Tennessee went into the Swamp and won handily, Marshall won at Kansas State, Northern Illinois at Alabama, etc. Apparently the 12th Man isn't immune to off nights."
