I know I'll be the minority on the board tonight amongst the alarmists and haters, but I'll post this and then go away quietly to suffer in defeat.

To those that thought (in some bad hyped, delusional state) that the Tigers were going to win the national championship this year, given an OBVIOUS schedule against them, just take a chill pill.

Defeat sucks, but LSU has lost two games on the road to two top 5 teams--who were favored in both games. Yes, LSU didn't play great today and yes, when you turn the ball over 4 times against a top 5 team... guess what, YOU DON'T WIN. But, please let's not lose all sight of reality. LSU has had two very tough road games, and until they can learn to win as a team in that adversity, where everyone from the punt returner to Les Miles plays at the top of their game--and that must be developed--we should stop dreaming of national championships. Will this change or ever be? Only time will tell.

I think LSU's loss today certainly doesn't look as bad as Auburn's loss to the Hogs... (now, I'd HATE to be TTub on the Auburn boards right now). Perhaps the top of SEC West is just not as good as we all thought it was.

In any case, this was a season where LSU was going to have their schedule stacked against them. Let's just be real here. I'm not saying Les and staff shouldn't get scrutinized for the loss and the players don't have to look at themselves in the mirror and question whether they can play any better--but let's not lose our heads over a loss on the road to Florida when they're undefeated and ranked in the top 5.

    Thank you.

Nice clarification of what is reality.

First, I have never thought this team was NC calibur, hoped it was.
What is reality? Reality is we are a one dimensional team with no running game, we don't look like we have a back who can pick up more than 2 yards
    a play besides JH today.
The best we can do is try and throw the ball.
Teams like this don't win in the SEC, you have to have some success running
    the ball.

Adversity, this is the same team that had adversity last year and won, they
should be more seasoned and experienced but it looks like we have all freshman on the offensive side of the ball.

Who cares about TT and AU?
We had a chance to win at Florida and make up ground and couldn't do it.
We looked like we were running scared out there from special teams to offense, defense tried to keep things together once again.

Let's be real here, we play in the SEC where every game can be tough.
The schedule thing sounds like a cop out to me, really.
How about our schedule in 2004?
How many games did we lose that year?
This is nothing more than excuse for maybe, having a down year.
Today reminded myself of LSU pre-Saban, hopefully we aren't headed down
    that road.
Why not just say, lets lower our expectations because this team isn't really
    as good as everyone thought?

Bottomline: I figured we could lose 2 or 3 games this year but I didn't see this
team laying an egg, falling apart.
I also thought we would have some kind of offense, running game with Broussard, etc, what a disappointment.
The offensive game and the way we lost today was just that.
I would rather lose like we did to AU compared to this fiasco.

Now that I think about it, I don't know why but I was MUCH worse off after the Auburn game than I am after this one. I guess cuz I felt cheated after the AU game. We pretty much handed Florida this game, literally. As embarassing as it was, we didn't deserve to win this game like we did with AU.

In 2004, we lost 2 games by early October--@ Auburn close and @ UGA bad. That UGA game was much uglier than today.

As far as the first point, you have to look at each team separately. Many of the players who led the team through everything last year are gone. The team has to create it's own identity. Unfortunately, that identity includes a pitiful kick game.

We won out then and lost to Texas in the Cotton Bowl?
    Can't remember?
Saban was our coach then and listen to some of these people about the
    coaches!

We may not be the most talented but a few weeks back most fans were jeering and snickering about Arkansas having a HS OC and a freshman quarterback. Yet they kick Aurburn's butt on the same field where we could only score three points. If Nutt is an idiot what does that make our HC?
I know we have more talent that Arkansas.
