Michigan, OU, Tennessee, and Iowa all in the top 10....

OU is down right now, but they will end up finishing the season with a fairly respectable record (not for OU though). What is scary is that they are playing a rediculous amount of freshmen. That team is going to be very scary in two or three years. I hope Texas enjoys this season because I'm afraid things will go back to normal pretty soon as far as the Red River Shoot Out is concerned. I pains me to write this because I despise OU. I don't know why; I always have.

I don't know, Texas is matching OU recruit for recruit, OU has lost the nucleus of all those great teams that refused to lose to Texas. I think we'll see a more balanced result in their rivalry, but of course that thing is spiced with a bunch of runs over the years.

Seems I remember hearing that a lot of highly-touted recruits ended up leaving OU for some reason or another recently.

I saw Michigan, Oklahoma & Tennessee all dropping out of the top 10, but I didn't realize they would fall that far. They are probably still overrated in the polls simply because of where they started off.

Iowa is the only one I didn't see coming... In fact, I had them as a darkhorse for the NC. Whoops.

That shows you how much polls mean in the preseason or even at the beginning of the season. They are worthless.

But people were going to have those opinion regardless of whether the polls were there or not, and those opinions would have lasted through the season - just as the polls present. It's human nature & not a direct fault of the polls.
