What stands out to me most?

A very, VERY inexperienced quarterback at the helm of a somewhat explosive offense, and they are FIRST in turnover margin. With all of the giveaways this year, I hope he can duplicate that level of protection of the football and protection of possessions for us as well.

Bottom line, people are using "fuzzy math" if you're downgrading the offensive output of Miles.

Turnover margin is very idicative of a coach hammering home fundamentals. Thanks for the post TE :thumb:

Rep points for that one...I was waiting to see if anyone revealed the true meaning behind that statistic...

The adherence to fundamentals and the focus on the details will be there with this coach.

Another perfect storm: A good coach who struggled to get recruits in and did well with what he had in a bad situation moves into an environment ripe for success. Only this time, we have the facilities, the support system, and are poised to pillage and plunder...

Can you imagine what an offensively-minded coach could do with the offensive fire power we have currently at LSU?

We've been complaining for a long time about not getting to see our WR's really explode out there. Maybe we'll get our chance now.

I hate to put a bad spin on your post, but this year was a SHOCK when it came to turnovers. We were good early in the year, got some lucky bounces... but at the end of the year didn't get'em.

Last year we were HORRIBLE. Gained ONE fumble in all of 12 games. The years before that were were always negative by 4-5 on the season.

No, not total luck. But in many games we got some lucky bounces. Against OU, their punter dropped the bal and it rolled to the goal line. This year, unlike in the years past, we were on the good end of fumbled... which is a 180 from the past few years were our turnover margin was HORRIBLE.

Turnover Margin first three years under Miles: -13

The fumble margin alone... we were -9 last year, even the year before and -10 his first year.

Just telling you, this year was a first for us.

BTW: No reason to be a jerk. I've been here the past 2 days trying to post info and answer questions.

As for Gundy, we just got one of the brightest, youngest coaches in the nation. I'm very happy. He was many people's first choice in 2001.

BTW: Read the OSU board and see how many are upset Miles is going. 2-5 our last 7 this year. He did the same thing last season when we had one of the best offenses in OSU history.
