ugh... I hope Ike doesn't remove the tarp that is pretending to be the roof over my kitchen... seriously.. I love south louisiana but I am thinking of moving.. some dead town in north west Mississippi is looking better and better...
so according to this, Cuba won't be around much longer...how much more in the path can you get. On another note, if you live in Cuba, where do you evacuate to?
i am trying to remember which hurricane got the tulane/smu game cancelled. but because of evacuations in south texas and really bad weather in dallas, it had to be cancelled. i know, lets play the game in oklahoma!
Well, if this thing gets moved to Dallas or to Denton (UNT) I'll buy a bunch of tickets from you guys. A bunch of us in Fort Worth are raring to go to the game if it gets moved. So if any of you guys can't go and want to sell your tickets, let me know. [email protected] I really hope it doesn't hit LA again though. I think my dad is still about 1.5 weeks from getting power and my grandmother in Central is probably a good ways from it also.
I'm am definitely going, too, if it gets moved to Dallas. I'm already putting together a group of people to cheer for the Tigers. And the best thing is, since my husband is a UNT alum, we'll probably buy tickets through UNT and be right in the middle of a group of their supporters.
Wasn't sure whether to put this in the Ike or UNT thread, so I put it in both. Mods, feel free to delete one if warranted. According to the Advocate, no decision will be made today on where the game will be played. “We are going to watch Hurricane Ike closely and make a decision that is in the best interests of everyone concerned,” said director of athletics Joe Alleva. “We are sensitive to the hardship that a change of location could have on our fans, but it is imperative that the Tigers play this week as it would be very difficult to reschedule the game. Our intention is to play in Tiger Stadium, but we will move the game to another site if necessary to play the game.” “We are not going to set an artificial deadline for making this decision,” Alleva said. “We have put things in motion to be able to move to an alternative site, and we cannot wait until the last minute to change locations, but we are going to watch this storm closely and evaluate all of the facts with great deliberation in order to make the right decision.”
