1. What Jr's are going to leave? How many recruits do you think will go elsewhere? The new coach and staff are not going to have much time to do recruiting.

By the way, I agree with my wife on this one, I would love to have a successfull coach stay a good while. We need a comfort zone for once.
  2. We're going to have a new coach. Otherwise, it's business as usual. Thank Coach Saban for lifting our program to the highest level it's ever been.
  3. Go to hell Dolphins and Bama knows what they can do.
  4. fortunately we have a very strong team so recruiting won't hurt in the short run. Hopefully jimbo and 'champ won't go anywhere so the players can stay focused on their coordinators as well.
  5. What's your point? Are you here to rub salt in the wound?
  6. What juniors are gonna leave? The current roster is not exactly loaded with first-round junior year talent this season. What, are NFL GMs hanging on Joe Addai's every word, hoping he declares? He's a nice guy---and from Sharpstown High here in Houston---but I don't think so.

Skip has a nice roster of "interested" coaches to begin with, what with agents contacting him as soon as the Saban-Dolphins dance began. Also, I give Skip and company enough credit to have had a wish list in place should the NFL come a' courting again this year.

In fact, a new coach should decrease the likelihood of transfers since everybody has a clean slate with a new coach (not that Saban held grudges or didn't play the best players, but still...)

The only thing that has a massively negative effect on current or prospective players is if the administration drops the ball on the hire. Based on Skip's comments, they're shooting for the stars (as they should be), so I don't think it'll be a problem.

This is a top ten program, loaded with talent, in a talent-rich state. Bring in an innovative, aggressive coach who can recruit like heck and LSU should be fine in the future...and locked and loaded for a title run next season.
  7. I fully expect Skip to hire a GREAT coach.

I think that if we get a good coach, a lot of our Juniors are going to be excited to prove themselves to the NFL. This was a let down year by many accounts (not our record, but how we played) and many wouldn't be drafted as high as they would want.

As young and talent rich as we are, I think we can afford to have a lacking recruiting class this year but it still worries me a little bit.
  8. Well many of our recruits (Sorry if you dont believe me read rivals100.com) have already said if Saban leaves they will probably go elsewhere. So we can write off most of the stars in this recruiting class.

Also X-Man has said there is a good chance he will transfer, so not so worried about juniors but I assume some of the freshman and redshirt freshman Saban gave the "I am not leaving" speech to last recruiting season will probably also look at other options..

Personally with the SEC reloading as it is, and LSU taking a setback (Thats my opinion please done flame) and now have uncertainty, no telling what the future holds.
  9. If you read the article, X-man said he would see what new coach we hired and then evaluate the situation. At no point during reading that article did it say that "he will probably go elsewhere". No need to jump to conclusions just yet.
  10. Realistically, I think you are correct but if we get a "top" coach the future should be bright.
The class this year may take a hit and we may lose a few off the team.
Hopefully it won't be too bad.
