She did what she needed to do. It was probably enough to seal it up.

I'm not sure that I disagree with you.

While I am, by no means, a Clinton supporter, I think it is naive of Obama to not respect them more. Granted, the DNC gave them 2 nights of the convention. I'm not sure what they can do to tamper down the rumor mill about Bill being unhappy about the speech topic, Hillary being unhappy about the role call, etc.

This is better than any soap opera on tv.

During and immediately after the convention, it will feel like B. Hussein has wrapped it up, but that's temporary. He's a neophyte who will blindly go wherever his advisors point. He will f*** up royally at some point before the election.

As for Hillary? I think she was trying too hard to "fire up" the crowd. That delivery was the worst I have seen in a while. All teleprompter.

SF, I think you and I are probably pretty close politically. I just disagree with you here on a different note.

I do PR for a living. I would give my left n#t for either of the Clinton's presentation and speaking skills, and thought she gave a great speech last night that didn't seem as "practiced" as Michelle Obama's the night before. Again, specifically from a public speaking perspective.

I don't like either of the Clintons' politics, but acknowledge their power within their party and sadly with this country. I think the Obama camp is making a strategic mistake in underestimating these two. Of course, this will work out well for you and I. If things continue at their pace now (Obama backsliding in the polls), this will go down as one of the biggest screw ups in the history of modern politics. The man has everything in his favor to win this election big, yet it appears that his ego and naivete are causing him to keep tripping over his own feet.

Things never continue at the same pace.

How so? He needs Bill and Hillary's support right now and they need his down the road. Obama does not need to be seen as a Clinton wannabe. He needs to have his own voice and this is how its being scripted. He's going to get Clintons voters without kissing anyones ass. From his speech at the convention until November, he's on his own and Hillary is out of the picture.

The Republicans are in full-Rove attack mode right now--their message is all about Obama instead of their own candidate. Bad mistake, I think. Too early. Obama is going to go after McCain much closer to the election. The republicans have screwed up the last two terms and he's going to hammer them for it. He's going to make it about Bush, not just about McCain, and he'll paint McCain as four more years of the same.

You are going to be one disappointed old man come November. The silent majority out there in middle America is going to put McCain in the White House and for all of his arrogant attacks on the Republicans, there's nothing Obama and his band of Merry Men can do about it. Of that I am supremely confident.

Well, you were supremely confident that WMD's would be found in Iraq, too . . . :insane:

When he loses, will you change your name to ObamaFan and bare your naked ass online?

Hillary did what she needed to do last night but no more than that. I was surprised that she spoke mostly about herself, and mentioned Obama less than a dozen times - and then it was limited to milk toast statements about him. Nothing about his fitness for office, his character, his vision or anything. The Obama camp will not criticize her in public, but they cannot be happy with the speech.
