Stuck in a hotel room it was a good time to watch the President up close in this more casual atmosphere. Unfortunately it didnt come off as very casual and seemed more scripted then it should have been. Didnt hear any really tough questions and the few that came his way were answered via a teleprompter. Where were the business newspaper reporters like the Wall Street Journal guys? How come they didnt get to ask any questions? It seemed like he was going down a list of reporters to call up next but they tossed him mostly soft balls. This didnt seem very productive or effective and wasnt one of his shinning moments.

You're not surprised right. The media is a joke and their conduct during the election and even now is pathetic. If they were doctors they'd be sued for malpractice.

Fortunately the market is taking care of them. The left-wing newspapers are dying by the day. Now we have left-wing politicians coming out of the woodwork to save them. Just like talk radio they can't stand that the market won't freely support their propaganda.

Just as Bush united the freaks of the left, Obama and his socialist agenda has awoken the rest of America. Even many dems are outraged at what this guy is trying to do.

BTW, Obama's "George Jefferson" strut up to the podium was a nice touch.

You mean the media doesn't treat Obama the same way they treated Bush?
Are you trying to say that they treat Democrats differently than Republicans?
    How can this be?

I find these responses pretty funny. I thought he got asked MUCH tougher questions than what he had in his press conference last month, and I thought may questions were very pointed and put him on the spot.

One reporter asked if he would sign a budget that didn't include his "tax cut for 95% of Americans", and he did nothing but dance around it, ultimately saying he "hasn't seen the budget."

There was the CNN reporter who was asking him why there was a delay in his outrage on the AIG bonus to which he got pretty snippy.

Many asked about the deficit, to which he had no good answer. His answer was basically: I know it doesn't look like we are cutting the deficit, but we will later, I promise... trust me....

I'd agree it wasn't his best moments, but I don't think it was because of softball questions.

seems like everyone else in the world thinks the media gave B.O. a tough time.

and, hey, you should give him props for calling on right-leaning media.

It was more like avoiding business reporters.

These 3 questions where the only tough ones he got. He should have been questioned more thoroughly about the AIG issue as it relates to Giethner. He was let off the hook there. His budget dance was disturbing because he in fact has a budget but hasn't seen it? Sounds like the members of congress voting on bills they don't read. The deficit issue was another dance that seemed uncomfortable and he seems to be lost without scripted answers. The "trust me" statements, "we have a strategy" statements are very unremarkable when he doesn't back it up with even a semblance of specifics.

He is in a tough position but when you have left winger's like Lou Dobbs saying "the new guy looks much like the old guy" the change he preached is ringing more hollow every day.

That was the key in my mind when I was watching it. I kept waiting for a Wall Street Journal reporter to ask a question and when it ended I thought WTF? I think his staff had him avoid the really hard questions when they seemingly picked what reporters they would call on before hand. It sure seemed like he was going down a list to me.

The teleprompter thing will also grow old on the public and media. Its seems the more he is without that aid the more clumsy he comes off. He's a dynamic speaker when he is rehearsed and prepared for canned addresses and responses. When he is left to "wing it" he doesnt do so well. He will probably get better as time goes on but I think it hurts his credibility to depend on that teleprompter so much. It makes him come off puppet'ish when someone in the back room quickly puts up his rehearsed answers or canned talking points.

Nearly every time i turn around he's on TV doing something. Is his true goal to be a famous celebrity? IMO he's tarnishing the image of the presidency by his ubiquitous exposure. He'll probably go down in history as a shallow, celebrity wanna-be type politician.
