I am curious who forum members think McCain would have an easier time beating: Obama or Clinton. Please explain your reasoning. I have always believed Obama would be the toughest because of his intelligence, his campaign skills, his financing and his organization. But recent indications have made me question this reasoning. I am courious what others think.

clinton would be easier to beat because she is more polarizing and mccain would snatch up the middle.

obama seems to be lost without a telestrator, it looks like his honeymoon with the media may be over and his associations with radical clergy and avowed terrorists look to be causing him problems, but its waaaaaayyyy early. it's a long time to november. people's memories tend to be short and all of this may be old news by the fall.

i think hillary is the better matchup, but she'll have to disenfranchise a large part of the base to secure the nomination

obama wins the democratic nomination and faces mccain

$4.00 gasoline will probably decide this election, not william ayers

I think Hillary is easier to beat. It's obvious many women support her and are comfortable with her. Her negatives are real high, particularly with men. She's just not real likable.

At this point, he probably could beat either one of them, considering the negative way Clinton has gone about this campaign because she feel she is entitled to it. The problem with Clinton is she keeps changing the rules for the party, her arguments change everyday, ie (he cant win big states, well the superdelegates should decide, and etc and etc) all the while she netted 6 delegates last night and is out of money. Barack has become vunerable, because he chooses to take the high road and not point out alot of her negatives. He has his problems as well. But the economy will be deciding factor and if McCain cant connect with that, which he seems like he cant. Them the Dem nominee will win in the Fall.

Hillary would be easier for McCain, she just has too many negatives and she has ran a poor campaign, which is a example of how she would run the country.

Obama would be easier for McCain to beat.

Hillary has the important blue-collar union vote in her pocket. That demographic will not go over to Obama if the nomination goes to him . . . it will go to McCain.

Just look at the heavy anti-Clinton rhetoric coming from the republicans. That should tell us something. They are worried about Hillary.

Red, what about Wisconsin and Virginia, 2 battle ground states, where he beat her both in the blue-collar vote

It is precisely the impact that Obama would have on the Reagan Democrats that have got me to start thinking that Obama could be easier to beat. Polls indicate a lot more of Hillery's supporters would either vote for McCain or stay home should Obama win the nomination.
