One missile strike targeted an al-Qaeda fortress in Pakistan, killing at least five al-Qaeda militants (according to the AFP). Officials said one senior al-Qaeda operative was killed (according to the BBC).

Another missle strike targeted the home of a Taliban commander (according to the BBC).

Officially, Pakistan (which has nuclear weapons) is angry at the the US for attacking their country, and they hoped that Obama would end the US attacks on Pakistan soil. However, some speculate that the US has an unwritten agreement with Pakistan to allow the attacks to take place.

Yesterday, Obama called Pakistan and Afghanistan "the central front" in the fight against terrorism. He said extremists in Pakistan and Afghanistan posed a grave threat which his administration would tackle.

Did the rules of engagement change since Obama was sworn in?

Are you suggesting that the attacks against Pakistan were unpopular under the Bush administration, but are now popular under the Obama administration?

I've never heard of anybody outside of Pakistan being outraged about the attacks against al-Qaeda targets in Pakistan... have you?

This news is interesting because Pakistan was hoping Obama would change the rules of engagement, and would stop attacking Pakistan soil.

You and I supported Bush's missile strikes targeted at al Qaeda terrorists in Pakistan, right? But now that it happens under Obama, you cry about it? I would think you would be happy to see that Obama is continuing to attack al-Qaeda targets in Pakistan, just like Clinton attacked al-Qaeda targets in Afghanistan when he was President.
