I was, of course, very upset and sick over the game yesterday. But, today I realize that the Tigers can still achieve everything that they could before yesterday's debacle (other than an undefeated season!). This may even be a good wakeup call for them. We can still get to Atlanta - though there is less margin for error now. Tigers just need to TCB in the remaining conference games. Then, beat GA (I don't think there is any way it will be anyone else from the East!) in the rematch and we're BCS bowl bound. We can even still get to N.O. by winning out. So, after sleeping on it, I don't feel quite as distressed as I did after (and during!) the game yesterday. And, besides, I realize it could be worse - I could be a Texas longhorn! The Tigers can still achieve great things this year and make us all very happy and proud. It will take a lot of heart, a lot of work, and a little luck as well. But the Tigers can still do it and, win or lose, I will be behind them 100% all the way. :geaux:
I agree with you, It's going to be much harder than I thought, after beating Georgia and Miss st the way we did, and the way Auburn was playing I thought this year was going to be a little easier winning the west. As Lee Corso says: Not so Fast my friend Maybe next week will be better
South Carolina ain't gonna be no picnic, fellas... That stadium ROCKS, and that offense has some SERIOUS running talent... We might have a chance on that defense, but we need to step up on offense in the passing game...and we've GOT to learn to have confidence in our running game...
Actually, I would have been more comcerned about the South Carolina game if we would have beaten Florida. I think our attention will be focused now and I think the game being on the road will have us ready to play an intense ball game. Do you remember how much people used to fear Florida (in the Sprrier days) the week after a Florida loss? At least I hope thats the way it will play out.
This is still the best Tiger team in decades around here. We are going to win a lot of games and go to a major bowl. We may even compete in the SECCG along the way. This is going to be a fun season. Maybe you had to have sat through six straight losing seasons under Archer/Hallman to appreciate it, but this team is talented, well-coached, and doesn't seem to have "attitudes". The SEC champion may have 2 or 3 losses this year. It's a tough league, and LSU is right in the thick of it.
I think LSU will be sky high for USC. And the Auburn game will be like the UGA game as far as atmosphere aroung campus etc. It is time to put up or shut up.
I think we will see the true character of this ball club starting this weekend. Their backs are now against the wall and one more defeat could ruin what was beginning to look like a banner season for the Tigers. The Tigers have some great backs (at least on paper) but they have yet to prove themselves. They and the O line need to step up starting saturday in Columbia, SC. I believe they will be ready and focused for SC and it should be another great game against Auburn.
If I remember a poll at the beginning of the season, most people voted for a 10-2 or 9-3 season. That being said, we are still ahead of that target. The games in question in most people's minds (at least in mine) were UGA, UF, and Arky. Since 2 of these have already been played, lets go out there and eat some drunken chickens on Sat night. I don't anticipate Saban or his seniors allowing this team to fall into another one of these type games again this season.
