I am sick and tired of ND getting this holier than thou status because of their history and independent status. This is the final straw for me and ND and all their fans can officially suck it.

"Beginning in 2006, Notre Dame will earn an automatic BCS berth with a top eight ranking in the final standings, Weiberg said. Also, under a new arrangement, Notre Dame is now guaranteed BCS money every season -- even when they don't play in a game."

This is completely crazy, whoever approved this needs to be drug out into the street and shot. I see no reason for them to get this kind of deal (and I'm not talking about their automatic bid here). This is crap and I hereby vow to spit on and/or kind the sh*t out of any ND fan I see on the street (degree of damage depending on the mood I'm in). I advise everyone here to do the same.

    Sorry LINK

Thee's a bunch of posts on this topic in another thread on the BCs. But basically this new deal is worse for Notre Dame than the old deal that they had, especially financially. Last time they played in a BCS Bowl they received about 13 Million.

Yeah but they weren't getting paid if they weren't playing in a BCS game, and now they are. You just don't pay a school for a game their not involved in. They are giving ND the same deal as an entire conference, and thats whats BS.

I hate you ND. I hate you so much that if you went to 2 BCS games in 10 yrs I would rather give you 29 Million instead of 19 Million and treat you like you were in a conference. Hell, if you went to more games I'd take even more money out of own my pocket and give it to you!! Take that you bastards!!

Give me a break. What're the odds that ND will make it into the top eight by season's end anyway?

In other words, they are guaranteeing them a $1 million a year, just like every other "team" that is in the BCS is. They use to get a full share if they made a BCS game, which would be $14 million. That would cover a lot of those yearly guarantees.

This deal is worse, in fact if Notre Dame won 7 games, the BCS had the option to pick them. I am not 100% sure, but I know the new deal is worse for notre dame, but disagree with the holy treatment.

    What is the big deal?

So it's the Notre Dame fans and the University of Notre Dame who are at fault here? You are going to "spit on them" and "kick the sh!t" out of them because of the way a business deal was structured with the BCS? Why not walk to the front of your mobile home and punch your wife or something and spare us all the tough guy talk...
