interesting. Brad Wing cut. I have never understood how many punters can't translate college success to the pros. If you can punt like he did for us as a Freshman, why would he not be able to do that repeatedly? You are not matched up against anyone, there are no battles where someone better beats you - you just punt the ball. Whether its a college field or pro field, you are still punting.

like all the other positions...the guys you are competing against are just as good if not better than you. Plus, with kickers (where the mental part is more important than with other positions) coaches like to go with a proven commodity rather than a rookie.

Paradise you ever followed Donnie Jones career since he left LSU? He has been one of the best ever. He is the guy that won the job over Wing.

I thought he was just plain stupid for leaving early. Too bad for him. He went from one of the bigger celebrities on campus to unemployed.

Rumors say that his off-the-field antics had worn out his welcome with the coaches who encouraged him to move on. Kickers are journeymen in the NFL. Some other team will give him a try before the season is over.

From what I saw, Wing didn't actually punt poorly. Neither did Jones, though. Can't say I know why they chose one over the other. I think he'll get a go with another team at some point.

Peterman should have a shot, too many teams looking for a good OG. Wing did well in the NFL, but hard to push out Jones. Many teams will choose a vet over a UDFA, too many things come into play. This is one reason I use to like the USFL. Cutera may have another shot, good special teams player and can help in a few spots. D-Pete is a guy that needs to man up.

D-Pete has pretty much been a disappointment from the word "go".
