This is the first time I ever remember seeing a chancellor position make national news, but here is LSU pulling off that feat. Of course others may have but I just did not care enough for it to register.
This potential hiring of O'Keefe is already generating publicity for LSU :thumb:

Just in case you click on this and it has moved, here is the story.

    LSU Chancellor

He's the Director of NASA. It would be front page news if he was going to be Chancellor of Ypsilanti State.

SabanFan.......no big deal but his title is Administrator of NASA. Hey has LSU had any astronauts. I have known most of them but can't remember an LSU grad. Auburn has had 7 so since I can't brag about NCs maybe I shold start bragging about astronauts

Note that he is a candidate. There is a search committee chaired a Joel Tohine (I assume you guys know who he is) that will meet this Thursday. O'Keefe will make his case for the job at that time. He will probably get the job because he has the backing of some key people in the LSU power structure.

I forgot those so that makes us have 9

Actually I don't know if this one is Able or Baker but they are both buried in a very visible place with a little marker at the Alabama Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville.

The fact that LSU doesn't offer an aerospace engineering program would tend to explain why we haven't had any.

Seven from Auburn, its nice to know that just about anyone can become an astronaut.
