currently ranked 21st in the bcs ranking, they will jump to 17th with their win over kent state this week if they finish in the top 16, they take the place of the big east automatic berth since they are not in the top 16 nebraska is 12th but losing 35 to 10 at the half to wisconsin. it that score holds up as a blowout, that shold drop nebraska to 17th or worse in the bcs texas is currently 17th and a loss definitely puts northern illinois in the orange bowl. texas is winning 10 to 7 at the half over kansas state
Don't know what it was. Pelini, the Stoops brothers and Veneble all come from the same place and background. They were all known as defensive geniuses. It seems they all lost the ability to craft Ds at the same time. Were they lucky (as Bo was) to have some outstanding athletes play which masked their inability to coach D? It sort of looks like that to me.
We did have a top defense for most of the time Pellini was here, although, remember, opposing teams started to figure him out toward the latter half of 2007.
Been reading on twitter that if NIU pushes OU out of the BCS, OU goes to Cotton and likely faces aTm. Same say if OU goes to BCS, then UT would gwt Cotton agaisnt probably LSU.
