Hey Tiger fans, Just wanted to let everybody know that according to all the talking heads here in Sooner country, the game is already over. LSU will show up only to collect it's money and then go home with our tails between our legs. Matt Mauck is just the kind of qb Ou loves to play-slow and immobile, no threat to run or scramble. Tommie Harris, Teddy Lehman and Dan Cody are gonna have a field day against our ol.None of our rb's are breakaway threats, we have only one receiver in MC and Ou's defense is far superior to ours. We got where we are by playing a bunch of nobodies and OU is just going to roll over us like a steamroller over a bug. Before all the games were set, they were all hoping to play us because we would be the easier opponent. JUst thought you might like to know.:geaux:
Most of them have not seen a single LSU game. We have one of the best OLines in the country. Justin Vincent more than proved his ability to breakaway against Georgia. Mauck is not slow and immobile. He's not a huge running threat, but because of our OLine play he wont have to be scrambling too much. We have three great receivers, and they will learn the names Skyler Green and Devery Henderson. LSU WINS THIS GAME BY 10.
I like the fact that they don't know about Mauck winning his previous sugar bowl with his legs. I guess they have not seen Justin Vincent run.(or Addai for that matter) And DO NOT tell them about those 'other' receivers like Devery and Skyler. I hope they listen to Trev for the next month and come to our house thinking that they have already won. UGA thought they won the SECCG too!!
I for one have a lot of respect for LSU and am looking foreward to a great game on Jan 4. I could care less what the media says, they thought we would blow out K state.
Guys - not everyone thinks this way. I think the game will be extremely physical and competitive. The key for you guys is how well your secondary plays. If you can contain Clayton and keep Brandon Jones from beating you deep, that could be the difference in the game. I think the key for us will be to get to Mauck and force him in to some mistakes early in the game. You guys will probably have to rely on him to make some big plays because I think we should be pretty successful at stopping your run game. The K-State game was an exception to the rule. They are the only team this year to run the ball with great success against us. Could you tell me a little bit more about your secondary and how you think they match up with our receivers?
OU gives up a pretty reasonable amount of running yards per game - I think we'll do fine as we feature a stable of backs. Realistically we have 5 backs we can rotate against a tired defense, each of which is capable of breaking big runs wide open. Essentially any back we have could be a feature back for a team with less depth at this position. Secondary coverage is good but they are going to have to bring their A games to maintain lights out coverage. The big benefit here is White is not going to have enough time to hang out in the pocket and find his receivers due to constant blitz packages. Our only real weakness is the kicking game.
I guess someone forget to tell them that they don't even belong in this game. The only people in the U.S. who truly believe that they do are Sooners themselves or those from OK. Maybe you should remind them of this every time they open that pie-hole of theirs. :dis: :geaux:
Im pretty confident in our secondary, at least at CB. Corey Webster is lock down, and Travis Daniels isnt too far behind. I am a little worried about the safeties, though. Jack Hunt doesnt have great speed, and he has played all year on heart and work ethic, not so much talent. Laron Landry is immensely talented, but he is still a true freshman. He has played more and more like a veteran every game, though. Kind of interesting that both defenses will have to hope to contain Clayton.
