Nah, just some sensibility. We have more rules/laws for driving than weapons. Doesn’t meet logic test, but gun owners need to quit thinking of it as this threat to remove them from good folks.

If you quit thinking you will find yoursef having to quit shooting.

Logic test, how many times more people die in auto accidents than gun shootings? Now factor that proportion to the lack of laws you lament.

Guns are lethal. Period. Cars can be lethal. Both need regulation, i.e. laws. It's truly that simple.
Having common sense laws beyond "right to bear arms" is just that, common sense. Gun enthusiasts have proved to be a very paranoid bunch.
If you are a hunter, and want to own whatever guns you want. Awesome. Go for it. Own them. Just have some reasonable laws that protect the population as a whole, b/c urban areas have gun owners, too, i.e. criminals, that aren't always as reliable as a hunter will be. All need to be considered.
There are statistics out there that point to how many gun deaths occur in the US each year. I'll look them up so that I can respond w/accuracy.
NRA lobby has prevented (politically) financial support to the CDC from truly studying the evidence about gun deaths, so the statistics are not as accurate as it would be. Again, paranoia that guns will be completely banned drives this lack of funding. That is lunacy. Nobody wants to ban guns.... at all. Just trying to have some regulation. That's it.

From 2009-2014, MVA deaths vs gun deaths are only separated by about 5K, 33k vs 38k.
