the BCS. It should not come down to this every year. Every year there are teams that think they should have been in the title game. There will be no less than 5 teams that feel they got slighted come noon time tomorrow...and it shouldn't be that way. We've bantered about this entire playoff system. What has to happen for this to become reality? I know the whole money thing with the bowls but I'd contend it's working in Divsion 2 or Division 1 whatever they are called this year. The interest would be like the NFL playoffs where every game sells out. Anyway, good night Tiger fans and may the good Lord bestow a gracious honor on us tomorrow! :geaux:

There is so much interest in this situation at the moment, that the BCS people are probably smiling ear-to-ear. While the average Joe may want a playoff system, I doubt that the BCS people see any need for it given what is going on right now. If you think about it, we have seen something of a playoff system throughout the regular season as things have been changing week-to-week. I am not defending the BCS. Personally, I'd prefer a playoff system, but I like the idea of the BCS title game being played in my hometown, and I know the money people like the current set up. Just sayin'

Re: No matter what happens tonight and tomorrow morning we have got to make changes t There will be a plus 1 system in place when the contract has to be renewed (I think in 2010). At least the top 4 in the BCS will have shot at it. Much better than the top 2.

If we go to a plus one instead of a 4 team playoff, the BCS will continue to be a joke. If we get a 4 team playoff, I hope eventually those in power will see that even that isn't enough. At least 4 opens the door. I imagine the nonBCS folks will do everything in their power to challenge the legality of a 4 team playoff. I bet if the percentages were worked out, nonBCS teams would have close to a zero percent chance to play for a NC, even in a 4 team playoff.
