http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/cfootball/332742_voices22.html says take away florida and lsu and the SEC is the ACC or C-USA. out of seattle paper but written by syndicated columnist out of florida (must be south florida)
Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn. Any one of those teams would be the second best team in the Pac-10 this year, ahead of Cal or Oregon or ASU. Tenn and Cal went 1 and 1 against each other so that is a wash, but if they played 10 times, Tenn would win 7. SEC is clearly the deepest conference in the nation.
Sounds like someone with a football IQ about on par with the rest of the west coast. Let's see...the drop-off in the PAC-10 is quite considerable once you get past USC & Cal. Same goes for the Big-XII once you get past OU and Texas (and I'm not even sure that Texas counts yet). The Big 1(0)? Yeah, right. So, then, where is this powerhouse conferences filled with top 10-caliber teams that he seems to be alluding to? The bottom line is, there is NO other conference where the worst team in the league has as good of a chance as beating the best team in the league on any given Saturday. Can't wait to waste the Trojans in January and shut-up ignorant fools like this guy.
Cal pasted Tennessee this year, hardly a wash in the context of your statement. Oregon surely could beat some of those teams, they're 4-0 and #11. They beat Houston who's decent and Michigan who beat Penn St. Fresno St. only lost to A&M by two (45-47). The conferences aren't AS separated as most SEC fans would like to believe, though the SEC is still superior.
Tenn winning last yr 35-18 at home and Cal winning 45-31 at home this year sure looks like a wash to me. Point is that about 5-6 SEC teams would compete for the #2 spot in the Pac-10 with LSU/Fla competing with USC for #1.
Well, you can scratch Tenn from that list cause Cal beat them, this year. Otherwise, we're (LSU)in deep chit cause even if we beat Florida/Auburn, last year's loses to them would make it a "Wash" too. See the problem with your reasoning? You said "This" year and you were right, if a team beats you "This" year (Like Cal did Tenn) then you can't be ahead of them in Conference standings. Capiche? Oh, you can scratch Auburn too, they suck.
Tiga knows one chick from out there and all of a sudden he's PAC-10 apologist extraordinaire. Come on, Stanford put up 31 on the Ducks in one half!
Just trying to call it like it is, didn't challenge the subjectives in it. You see Tenn and/or Auburn ahead of Cal, Oregon, even Arizona St. and UCLA? I did say the SEC was still superior. BTW, how would you know how many "Chicks" I know from anywhere? :hihi: My opinion is based on watching games.....many and all day on Saturdays.
