Who says "not being allowed?" Who says let them get away? Nobody. Having guidelines for police chase makes sense and every department has them. Risking the lives of dozen, perhaps hundreds of innocents chasing a car at 100 mph down a freeway make little sense if the vehicle is under helicopter observation. The radio outruns these jokers...set up a a roadblock ahead of them. The Baton Rouge police recently chased a fleeing car through a back yard and ran over an innocent person trying to catch a suspect. He should have hung back and called for help instead on endangering lives of innocents trying to catch somebody suspected of being wanted for a minor charge.
