I cannot tell you after reading stuff like this how he puts things in perspective for us fans. He is one hell of a coach on and off the field I am very thankful he wears our colors. And I hope he does for as long as he wants. The article also points out, LSU has won 18 of its last 21 games. From the Advocate Perspective Saban gave the longest answer of his 30-minute briefing -- 4:15 -- after hearing about Zook's firing. He talked of coaching amid high expectations. "I'm going to do this as well as I can do it for as long as I can do it," Saban said, "and as long as I enjoy doing it -- which I really do. I really enjoy doing it." He said he was looking forward to an afternoon meeting and practice. "I was here at 6 o'clock this morning for a 6:45 meeting so I could get in there and talk to the players and teach the players," he said. "I enjoy that. "Now, we may not all play like you want us to play, and you all may want to fire me someday, and that's OK, but until then, I'm going to enjoy my work, and I'm going to teach those players, and they're going to get better because of it." Saban alluded to being fired before, and he did his best to put football in perspective. "You know what? There's bad things that happen every day to people all over the place that are a lot more important than this and this football game and whether we get any turnovers or don't," Saban said. "There really is. We all ought to have some gratitude and love in our heart for some of those things. "I do a real bad job with my kids right now. I go home at night, and I'm frustrated because things aren't going so well, and I don't go spend any time with my kids. That's bad. That's bad of me, because that's more important than this."
I tell you what ... I am glad I was not at the Troy game when those worthless drunk cockskrs started chorusing boos on LSU and Nick Saban ... with all the obscenities toward him He heard it ... and these comments show it :dis: I'd have driven my fist through the back of some boobirds head and gone to jail ... It's a crying azz shame that the AP Coach of the year in 2003 has to get **** like that from a bunch of worthless ckskrs You see a ****ing animal at the game screaming obscenities at Saban ... throw a ****ing coke in his face and cool him off if you're afraid to hit him ... or have your woman do it ... If you've got no stones for it ... Nick Saban has been too good to LSU ... he deserves better than to get cursed out at games ... We're gonna lose this coach ... because of a bunch of azzholes ... the writing's on the wall :dis:
Oh Please! You really think Saban is that thin skinned? If Saban can't handle a few college idiot fans, then he surely won't survive in the NFL where it's 100 times worse. And, unlike the BR media, the NFL media will eat a coach alive!
please. this guy is freaking worshipped here by 99.9% of this state and he is the highest paid coach in the land. I am sure he is a big boy and can deal with a few idiots.
Speaking as a kid of a high school coach growing up: You never ever get so thick skinned that it doesnt make you mad and it hurts your family. It does go with the territory but it is a tough thing for people to go through. I feel for the Florida coaches family because it is hard to see someone you love have bad things said about them and not want to do something about it. Those same people that cuss someone for fumbling would not like to have someone watching them at their job and critisizing every move. Some fans find it hard to be positive. I myself question some decisions and want improvement in playcalling and every has that right. But to booo a team that you are supposedly pulling for is really bad. Put it all in perspective and i say thanks for coach saban and thank him for giving us all to feel the pride in LSU Football. Geaux Tigers
Without looking it up, I'd say he was part of Bellicheck's staff in Cleveland when Bellicheck (and, therefore, his staff) got canned.
I wonder how many fans that booed and shouted obscenities at the coaches/players were drunk? To this day, I don't understand people getting lit up before and/or during an LSU game and end up having no recollection of the events that transpired on the field. I say let them drink milk! (that's for tirk)
That wasn't it since Saban left Cleveland in 1994 and Bellicheck coached in Cleveland until 1995. Maybe when he coached in Houston with Glanville and the Oilers?
booing is no big deal. i dunno why everyone wants to cry about it. i would happily boo any team i like, if they are not doing well. whats wrong with that? are people so sensitive that a particular sound hurts their feelings? babies.
