I think Nick Saban could have saved himself a lot of anguish if he was just honest with everyone. I feel as a football fan that if he really loved the "game" and the "players" he would be honest to them. To me I don't really care that he's going to be coach at Bama it's more of a charecter/integrity issue. He left Miami the same way he left LSU, saying he wasn't going to leave and that he had "no interest" in coaching elsewhere, and sold that to his players and organization who were behind him 100%, whom he then betrayed by leaving when he said he wasn't. "Teacher of young men," I guess that means strictly football.
I am not here to be the spelling king, and lord knows I am horrible at spelling but since you spelled it wrong twice, it means it wasnt a typo Its Character - C-H-A-R-A-C-T-E-R character.... And yes many are questioning his character and intergrity...
Come on TT, be careful. Learn the "there, their, they're" rule before correcting others spelling inadequecy.
Your right although I didnt have to apply that rule since my response didnt have that.. Just wanted to point it out, you can learn something new everyday right. Football season is over, lets learn. because KNOWLEDGE is POWER !!!! yes I am the worlds worst at grammar.. Not to good at Math either.
I don't think is Nick is low character. I mean he's no Eagle Scout, for damn sure, but lets not put him on a level with lawyers and politicians.
It's "You're right", and I was referring to the ND academic standards thread where you correctly pointed out the mispelling of academic, but in the process, misused the there, their, they're rule. I thought it was kind of ironic.
Yes, he does owe it to the Miami fans and organization. He also owed that to his recruits he left behind at LSU that finally "grew up" under Miles and won the recent Sugar Bowl. It it not very nice of him to do what he did; smells of self centerness and cowardice, and lack of principle. DO YOU WANT YOUR KIDS TO ACT LIKE HIM?
