I was just about start this thread, and was beat to it. This award is a good sign, I don't think Saban is going anywhere. He is in the NC, just got coach of the year, and is looking at an excellent contract from Skip. Things couldn't be better for him, and he earned it.
Check out this from the Sportsline article: Gee I didn't know we had 11 straight losing seasons prior to Saban. How freaking hard is it to get that kind of thing right? I could do that research in 1 minute.
I wonder if Carroll thinks the AP got this vote right? Also from article: "Nick Saban called his LSU team together early last month, when the Tigers were in seventh place in the BCS standings and a long shot to make it to the Sugar Bowl. He told the players that now was the time to voice any frustration over the rankings, because after that, they could only talk about the next game. The players kept quiet, the Tigers kept winning, and Saban's steady leadership helped him earn The Associated Press Coach of the Year honor Thursday." I can understand being disappointed, but can anybody truly see Saban and Bertman doing anything other than the right things and accepting even if not agreeing with the situation if LSU did not get picked. I think Stoops would do the same as mad as he was after the KSU game.
