They were saying on Sportscenter how Dwayne Bowe didn't have a good day and probably dropped to late 1st round today. I'm sure he'll bounce back though. What I'm impressed with is that Calvin Johnson, not planning to run, decided to, borrowed someone elses cleats and ran a 4.35 40 yarder, that is just sick for a guy his size.
He is an amazing athlete for that size and that isnt his best quality IMO. I watched a few of his games these past 2 years and it amazes me that he is not arrogant or demanding. His coach says he never asks for more touches because he wants whatever is best for the team. He rarely goes and sits on the bench during the defensive series either, he cheers for his teammates on the sidelines the whole game. That is a leader and will propel him to greatness in the NFL.
Calvin Johnson is probably the best player in the draft. I watched him run his 40 and it looked like he was barely moving yet nailed a 4 freakin 3. The guy is smart and unselfish with tremendous upside. If he doesnt go as one of the first 4 or 5 picks then someone screwed up. He will be a major player in the NFL and as much of a "sure thing" as you can get. Whoever drafts this guy, barring injury, will get someone who can contribute right now for a lot of years.
Its unreal, I first heard of him when he was a freshman making all those ridiculous catches. The scary thing is, his hands are his best features. Not the fact that he's 6'5 235 pounds and runs a 4.35 40. He really is a good kid, doesn't complain or talk trash from what ive seen.
calvin johnson is a beast i hope he goes on to be one of the best wr's in the NFL. so we can stop hearing about those prima donna's chad johnson, terrell owens and randy moss
Bowe ran 4.52 and 4.55: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/pl...gnews.asp?sport=NFL&id=4184&line=89825&spln=1
I agree. But unfortunately money brings out the worst in people. The prima donna's you listed weren't as bad in college. I hope he doesn't follow suit.
Attitude is one thing that can't be guaranteed. Money and publicity spoil the best. It's not that easy to be a Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison. That's why those 2 receivers will be written in history and remembered as all time greats, while people like T.O. and Moss will long be forgotten when their prime passes, even though they had the best physical talent.
