I'v been hearing alot about how good LSU's team next year is going to be and how this years team (people thought) wasn't going to be all as good. screw em! look where we at now! National Champs!!! if we can get better than this we'll be unstopable!!!! We also got some of the best people in the state to play for us. Lets hope we go all the way next year too!! not that i don't believe they won't or nothin, but all that matters is that we worked hard as hell to get where we are now and lets hope we do it again next year.. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!
The best thing about all of this is how LSU did it with class. Nick Saban has bestowed upon his team the correct manner in which to carry yourself. The players mimic their coach very closely. I just love the maturity, intelligence, and many other intangibles that LSU Tiger players have displayed this entire year. Nick brings much more to the table than just X's and O's. And by the way, he's pretty good with X's and O's too.
If everybody remembers the prognosis way back before the season started LSU was supposed to go 9-3 or 10-2 at best. Next year was supposed to be our year. And it still can be our year.
If we make it by the 3 game stretch of Auburn, Georgia, and Florida than we will be just fine. I think alot of it depends on if Mauck stays. A freshman QB going into those three stadiums and winning is alot to ask for. Our team has the mentality that nobody is better than them and that they can beat anybody, but it is always hard to repeat as champs.
I sure hope that Mauck comes back. Everybody will by gunning for the Tigers next year and I don't care how good one of the phenom QBs turns out to be I would hate to see a young QB with only 2 games of experience go into that Murderers Row of Auburn, Georgia and Florida all on the road.
Isl - You got half of it right. It will be LSU vs OU in the Orange Bowl (and thank God it's in North Miami Beach and not in south Baton Rouge!) OU has 18 starters coming back and all are already planning on being there. Hope the Tigers are too because OU wants another crack at you guys. And, Bengal, you are correct, as defending national champs LSU will have a large bullseye on its back. Everybody will want to knock off the national champion. So be prepared for a tough go. Stoops continues to build the dynasty. Rhett Bomar the No. rated QB in America, from Grand Prairie, TX has verbally committed to OU. Rhett is a Caucasian Michael Vick. Runs like a deer, throws it like Joe Montana. Adrian Peterson, the No. 1 rated back in Texas, has committed to OU. 210 lbs, 6-2, 4.4. He runs around, over and through other people, not really caring how. Hope you got to see him in the USArmy All-Star game the day before the Sugar Bowl. He is something else and will probably play next year. Reminds me a lot of Vincent - you have a real treasure there! So - hope Saban stays (and I think he will - he has kids in highschool in BR) and hope we can meet you guys in the Orange. We want and deserve another chance. Had our Clayton caught that ball in the endzone (he had both hands on it before he dropped it) with 2 and 1/2 minutes left in the game, the game might have turned out differently. WHo knows? Close but no cigars and great victory for a very deserving Tiger team. Geaux Tigers and Boomer Sooner!
Soonerbird....it would be great to meet again...no doubt But I ask you, where in USC's schedule do you see a loss? The only question mark for USC is the fact that they lose 3 offensive lineman (one of them a 1st team all-american). Maybe things won't go so smoothly for Mr. Lienhart. If LSU, OU and USC are the only undefeated teams next year, then the BCS will have to institute a playoff system at the last second, since the fans will protest the bowl games these teams are in and not show up. As far as you saying what if on the pass drop by Clayton (which wasn't a drop, it just wasn't an incredible catch), you really can't play that game.....cuz LSU can come back with 3 what if's to every one OU can put up. It was total domination on both sides of the ball by LSU for 3 quarters, and the defense still had enough to hold you guys off on the short field in the 4th quarter. BTW, with Bomar and Peterson, OU's offense is set for the next 3-4 years. Congrats on the pickup up both of them studs. Looks like you guys should finish 3rd in recruiting behind LSU and USC.
Southern Cal will lose some on defense too. Kenechi Udeze is gone, Shaun Cody is gone, Will Poole is gone, and I think Marcell Almond. Also they lose Keary Colbert on offense too. But they got Leinart, Mike Williams, Reggie Bush, Hershel Dennis, and LenDale White, that offense will still be potent.
