I know we still have a bowl game to play, but I have a couple of questions about the schedule next year.

    1. We still have a TBA game on the schedule. Has this been filled, if so by what team. If not, does anybody know what schools we are talking to. I'm afraid Skip will schedule another 1-AA team.

    2. Is Tulane going to play football next year. If not who replaces them on the schedule?

Personally, I hope the open date gets filled with a big name from the Big-10 or Big-12 even if it means a return trip later. I'd love to make a road trip to Happy Valley, Norman, Ann Arbor or wherever in a few years.

Donno about Tulane yet but don't get your hopes up for a big name team for the TBA game.

i talked to a guy earlier this week who knows people on the tulane board, and he said that they're giving up their football program. he said they haven't annoucned it yet because they are looking to add another sport, so that they can keep they're division 1-A status. the reason they don't want to give up their 1-A status is because they feel their baseball program will be competitive along with their basketball program.
remember this is all coming from someone who say's he knows people, so i'm not sure how much of it is true

So much for that heated rivarly. I wasn't in favor of playing that game anyway. As for the open dates, I would love to see a couple of top 25 teams in there. At least one. It would be a good year to schedule USC.

I could not agree more Salty!:thumb: It would be nice to see OU on the schedule or even OSU, or Iowa!

Ideally (at least as I see it), with the season expanding to 12 game giving us 4 OOC games, I would like to see the following.

2 games a year vs rent a win schools like North Texas, La Tech and the like.

1 game per year vs a mid level school in a major conference (like Arizona, Ok St., Wake Forest). Good competition but do not always have to make the return trip to their place.

1 game a year against a big OOC power. Tiger stadium would be insane and the road trip would be great. Play the game early in the year when a win gets people talking title, but a loss does not automaticaly kill the season.

I think it is vital that we get away from 1-AA schools. That adds no prestige to our school or strenght of schedule. Why couldn't we play someone from Conf USA, Like Houston, UTEP or SMU. Even if we did a one off, we would have great presence traveling to those schools. Or put a Syracuse, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Rutgers, Fresno State..... JUST PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM DIV-1AA!!!!!!

I don't look for us to schedule a big name school next year to fill the TBA game, as they will claim that we already have a big name school in Arizona. Unfortunately, it'll probably be against a team that we really don't want to watch.

Assuming this TBA game is at home as scheduled, we'll have 8 home games next year. That'll cost $288 per season ticket to only watch 3 good games ... Arizona, Bama and Ole Miss.
