Not aimed at you but I never could stand him......he was a phony.

It has been questioned that he was not born not in Louisiana, but in Mississippi or some other southern state, and that he was not a Cajun. Now supposedly, Wilson identified himself as a Cajun through maternal lines, and made a case for being born in Louisiana- albeit not in the traditional Cajun section of the state.

Anyone who has to argue to prove all that raises a red flag, throw in his accent was forced and that last residence was in Summit in Pike County Mississippi.......hmmm

Justin didn't sound like an authentic cajun, but he had some great jokes, and I enjoyed him. Liked his cooking show.

I'm in Iberia parish and most of my neighbors sound alot like him. That accent aint forced, but it does sound "well traveled" as if he picked it up by visiting family alot as a child. There's alot of delcambre in that voice...

As for birthplace, most would say cajun country stops at the mississippi. All them high class folk east of baton rouge dont know nothin' bout cookin'. I seem to remember watching this show on LPB as a child.

" How ya'll are ?" is how he began most of his cooking shows. I didn't really care for his humor but I loved his cooking show. The food he cooked is actually closest to what I ate as a kid growing up in Breaux Bridge. I especially liked the fact that many of his shows were produced outdoors where many cajun men hone their craft with a few beers for inspiration.
