By Sam King, a former editor of the Advocate has a book coming out called 'Game of My Life'.

The “Game of My Life” is an account of 32 games in LSU football history — and the guys who had the spectacular game of their lives.

The younger generations can not only read about those great moments and outstanding plays they missed, but rehash the moments of Rohan Davey, Kevin Faulk, and Devery Henderson and his Blue Grass Miracle, the night he snatched victory from the jowls of defeat in Lexington; Wendell Davis, Dalton Hilliard, Tommy Hodson, Matt Mauck, Josh Reed, JaMarcus Russell and Herb Tyler.
All told, there are 32 chapters plus a foreword and introduction that are certain to raise a goosebump or two on any Tigers fan. If you have any purple and gold in your veins, you’re certain to enjoy, “Game of My Life.”

Actually, the book came out before the start of the 2006 season. I own a copy of it but have yet to read it, though (what, with being distracted by the 5 million other LSU books I'm trying to catch up on). Currently reading Shaq Talks Back (don't laugh). I suppose that Game of My Life will come after I finish reading that or Dale Brown's Tiger in a Lion's Den.

I bought it when I was back in mid-January at the bookstore. I got about halfway through in travel but haven't had time to read it since. I wasn't alive or had no recollection for all but the Bluegrass Miracle, Rohan's Peach Bowl, and extremely vaguely Kevin Faulk vs. Houston but I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Ken Kavanaugh, Wendell Davis, etc. and am looking forward to finishing it, especially JR vs. AState. That game was amazing. One of those where I'll always remember where I was, what I was doing, etc.

A football player at the very top of his game. That was an unvbelievable game.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone good put together a DVD of all of these games ?

I bought myself and my brother a copy of this book at Sams. I was amazed at some of the player's stories in the early years of LSU. I attended my first LSU football in 1982 and attended many since then. I made all the home games during the Arnsparger years and they were "very" memorable.

The book is a great read.

Can anyone recommend a good book on the history of LSU football. Not just about the games, but inside scoop of what went on in the front office, the boosters, TAF, the legislature and the board? The real nitty gritty of college athletics.
