I just got my absentee ballot in today and the only LA constitutional amendment proposal is the new "marriage amendment" that has been going around the country for a while. Basicly, it states that marriage is defined as the union of a man and a woman.... bla bla bla and only that union will be recognized by the state of Louisiana no matter what the other states do. It will ban homosexual marriages in the state.

Now, I am in no way, shape, or form homosexual in any way, but I do not support this amendment on the basis that it is a violation of individual rights. People should be allowed to live their lives however they choose, with whoever they choose. The government needs to keep its huge red-tapped nose out of this.

I know Louisiana is a conservative state with a strong religious background, but I hope that the population will not support this amendment.

If this amendment passes, who knows what the next moronic politician will think of next? Maybe, blacks should not be allowed to marry whites, or whites who own land and make $30,000 or more a year should not be allowed to marry asians, etc.....
