French Chef Joel Bruant has challenged Iron Chef Sakai and if he beats him Sakai must step down and Bruant becomes the new Iron Chef French. The ingredient is salmon.
There were 4 salmon, 3 males and one female. Sakai had first choice so he got a male and the female. They said the chefs could tell the difference by looking at the fishes faces. Sakai ends up with the salmon roe which could make a big difference.
Sakai has but the fish guts into a milk bath. I have to draw the line at eating fish guts no matter how they are prepared.
Once again, I repeat, the dishes these dudes create are straight up nasty. Nobody in their right mind would think it tastes good.
The culinary tastes of the Japanese are different from those of Americans and Europeans. Some of the stuff looked pretty good. I would like to try Sakai's sauted salmon steaks wrapped in bacon.
i always say the same thing about sakai. the dude is an artist. you cant match him in presentation and creativity.
