I agree. We are not going to hire a big name, we never do. Problem is when you look around the NCAA, you don't see any midlevel schools with a defense that truely impresses.

I posted this in another thread. Not sure what to make of these 2. Comments welcome.

I haven't bothered to look him up, but what about TCU's DC? They were No.1 in total defense until they played OU and held them to 35 when they were averaging 50. They completely shut down BYU's spread with defensive line twists and stunts, plus an ultra aggressive blitz package that was disguised well enough to fool a Junior QB who's 1st team all conference (even though it's the Mountain West) and is considered an All America candidate.

Another candidate (and wouldn't this be ironic) is Ok. St.'s DC. They held both Missouri and Tx high powered offense in check. I think both would consider LSU a promotion rather than a lateral move.

He'll end up a head coach so it won't happen, but i'd love to see Muschamp back.

I'm pretty doubtful that we see any change unless we just get lit up by a Tulane caliber team.

Muschamp has been giving the keys to Texas whenever Mack gets tired of coaching...I think!

No. I don't which worries me. And I have been hesitant to blame our problems on the 'Co' situation. However, whether it is one guy or twenty DC's, our defense is not getting the job done. Players are out of position to make plays. And it took us too long to make an adjustment to uga's passing game.

I doubt that has happened, but if he sticks around it may turn out that way. I think he ends up HC somewhere else within the next couple of years.

I don't think The co-DC's would have a problem going back to position coaches. I want someone to come in and teach fundamentals first and foremost.

That's an excellent point. But he doesn't actually call the plays does he? Doesn't he just relay them on the field and work personnel? Which might be bad enough. I don't know.

I read somewhere that last year Mallory scoped the offensive players coming on the field and relayed that to Bo who called the play on the field. Apparently this year a GA is scoping the offense, giving that to Mallory who calls the play, and Peveto then sends the players/play to the field. Just that added layer could be a huge screw up, imo.
