agreed. I was watching MSNBC (only channel showing a minute by minute) replaying the today show from 9/11/01.
8 years ago I was recovering from a knee surgery just like I am right now. I woke up and did the first thing I use to do every morning..check my fantasy baseball team but could not access Yahoo. So I called the chick I was screwing at the time to see what she was doing. She was the one that said go look at the tv. I did, and after seeing it, went and woke up my roommate who was in the Army Reserves, told him he might be getting a phone call soon. We just sat there mostly in silence, with the occasional racially laced outburst heard that was until we watched the 2nd plane fly right onto the screen and right into the tower. We were living right off of campus and one street over they had a Muslim center thingy and it took eveything I had to keep my roommate from storming that place with nothing but his bare hands. After we became so numb to the footage we decided to go give blood and then go get drunk. I can close my eyes right now and still see that day as if I was living it right now, I HOPE that it is always that way...somethings are just to important to fade into the sands of time!
I was checking a guide this morning to see if there were any shows about 9/11 that I could watch with my 8-year-old daugther tonight, so she could know what this is all about (she was a month old on 9/11/01.) None of the major networks are showing anything. I hate to think that we're already forgetting. I know we have to move on from tragedy, but this should be remembered.
this isn't something this country will forget, but hopefully its something we can move past, but remember as a tragic day, and a tragic loss of american life. We need to celebrate the lives of the people who were lost, and the people who fought and died as a result. But if we do not move on, then we will have given the cowards who committed this atrocity validity. :911::usaflagwa
The History Channel is running stuff all day. right now, like i said earlier, MSNBC is the only channel running a minute by minute replay of the day. That is about it.
i am suprised we havent any other major bombings. at the time i was worried that terrorists might start bombing coffee shops and pizza places once a year or so. perhaps we stopped them, or they tired out, i dunno.
It's hard to believe that was 8 years ago. I remember how you couldn't find an American flag for weeks after the attacks. The Patriotism that this country showed was awesome. Everyone came together....everyone united. Democrats, Republicans and every American in between could agree on one thing: that we will stand against anyone who attacks our country. I, for one, will never forget 9/11.:911: God bless, America. :usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa:usaflagwa
Your right and thats why the families of the victims asked for this to be a day of national day of service and not a national holiday like some people were suggesting. People should go out today and do something selfless for someone else as a way to remember the 1st responders that were doing what they do everyday for someone else. Your right we do need to move on but there is no reason that every year on this day that alittle time can not be taken out to first remind everyone or teach those that were to young to know what happened in conjunction with the moving on and healing remembrance.
These terrorrists are very, very patient. They won't go away. This administration has them in full prep mode. But, sadly, we won't see it coming.
