need to look at the future, not the past

    Just a thought, but, I think LSU needs to hire someone who has clear potential to succeed at LSU, rather than, someone who has already scaled the mountain, and may not have the fire in his belly anymore. Of course, a guy with proven head coaching credentials is preferable to one with none. I'd say Louisville's 10-1 record this year is some proof of Petrino's qualifications, and a pretty good predictor of his likely success at LSU. Guys like Jimmy Johnson and Butch Davis have already won and probably wouldn't be as hungry or work as hard as Petrino. Remember Howard Schnellenberger? He was the man at Miami U. He left, then was resurrected by Oklahoma in the 90s, but, he only lasted one year, the guy was drunk during practices and practically incomprehensible at times in media interviews. Get someone relatively young, sharp, innovative. I think Petrino fits those bills. :geaux: :thumb:
