Years ago the Irish scheduled all three service academies. Air Force beat them once, perhaps twice when Faust was the Irish coach. Of course so did everybody else
The Notre Dame vs. Army was a huge national game back in the 40's and 50's. The two schools played each other almost every year. ND has played Navy most every year for I know at least 42 straight years, but I'm pretty sure it's longer than that. Every team schedules cupcakes these days and this is no different. Notre Dame generally plays a pretty tough schedule. I don't need to remind anyone that LSU has played a bunch of I-AA schools - Western Carolina '00, The Citadel '02, Western Illinois '03, Appalachian State '05, in the last six years. That doesn't include ULL, Tech, Troy, North Texas' of the world...etc. that the Tigers have scheduled in that time as well. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't be casting stones.
True, but LSU doesn't claim to have a brutal schedule top to bottom, and only schedule quality opponents like the Golden Domers do.
Dude, ND plays Michigan, USC, Mich St, Boston College, Tennessee etc... So if you are trying to say they don't play a tough schedule, you are dead wrong lol
explains their success this year.. michigan (overrated this year), Mich St. (sucks as usual), BC (mediocre), UT (sucks this year)...
You make it sound like ND KNEW this when they scheduled... What about us? Tenn (a loss) Zona St. (average) Auburn (legit) Bama (couldn't score on anyone)
