Notre Dame fans make me giggle, mainly because of the sheer dropoff in rational thought from Bama to ND.
Quite possibly the most ridiculous statement of them all. And that's saying a LOT. The Pigs would roll the Irish.
Now I feel like maybe Rutgers should win so that Louisville could take the last remaining at-large away from Notre Dame. If I knew that LSU was a sure bet for the Rose (my current projection has us at 80 %), then I would root for that Rutgers upset. With all the backlash towards ND now, I think Louisville would take away that last spot. I think Louisville would be a much better opponent for the SEC Champ, and would answer a lot of questions whether a team from the Big East could survive the SEC. Notre Dame would just plain lose to either of the SEC Champ contenders.
ND fans will complain about anything and everything. I went down to South Bend for our game against them. The win was awesome, but ND fans just can't take it that they can't beat a good team and that they build up "good" wins over "bad" opponents. I'm sure we both feel the same hate towards ND. It's a universal thing.
Being a Catholic boy, like many of us are down here, I am pretty neutral towards the ND thing. What I don't like about them is their inflated sense of self and the whining that comes from many of their people. Nothing else needs to be said about ND other than this: But let these knuckleheads get it out of their system. They are probably not going to the Rose and they want to pout about it. How many people end up pouting because the Sugar takes them? They better show some class and STFU when they get that Sugar bid assuming it comes. They will be damned lucky to get such a prestigous bowl, if you ask me. At any rate, we will hear more bishing and complaining next week as well, I am sure, and then things will probably settle down. BTW, I did visit a Mich. board, and the folks there seemed cool to me about going to the Rose Bowl instead of going to Glendale, AZ for another shot at OSU. :thumb:
Sacrosanct bastid. :hihi: PS Me too. The 3-0 loss in our first meeting STILL bothers me. I can still hear John Ferguson's call on the FG that beat us at the end.
