Quick breakdown of ND. We have a great QB and awesome wide-outs. Samardzija always seems to make plays. Our defense has failed us in big games though. I think LSU's offense could have a big day passing on our secondary. I think as long as Quinn plays like the future first rounder he is, we should win this one in a shootout. ND 42 ; LSU 38
Welcome to the board. Just wanted to point out that our D-Fence has only allowed 150 points through 12 games. I know Quinn is a good QB but I'm not sure ND can hang 42 on us.
I also find it hard to believe that ND could score 42 on our defense. That being said, I could definitely see LSU outscoring ND--based on what I've read about the ND defense. It doesn't seem to be a strong point. Samardzija impresses me more than Quinn. He's is quite a WR. Quinn has done a good job, however, of getting the ball to him.
Well, nobody has posted points like that on the #2 LSU defense all season, so I wonder what gives you that confidence. LSU also has a great QB and awesome receivers and both teams could post some serious yardage. LSu is ranked #18 in total O and is comparable to Notre Dames #22. The difference is the defenses. LSU is ranked #2 and Notre Dame is ranked #45 in total D. In passing defense LSU is ranked #3 and Notre Dame is ranked #50. Bad matchup for Quinn. LSU 42 Notre Dame 27
Quinn and Smardjawhat'shisname are an impressive tandem, but where are the other points coming from? I can't wait 'til Smardwhatever is pitching for my beloved Cubs. I don't see you guys hanging over 28 on us, and I expect with our passing game and ND's secondary, we can outscore them. BTW, what is the tone concerning Quinn finishing 3rd in the Heisman race? That was a shocker to me, although McFadden certainly impressed when they played us. I just didn't think as a soph. he would fare so well.:geauxtige
I think our only chance is to win in a shootout. That's why I said I think we CAN, if Quinn plays like he is capable. I don't have much faith in our secondary stopping Jemarcuss and Bow. Quinn will be the best QB your D has faced all year. If Wilson can out up 300 yards on them, I know Quinn can have a great game.
I expected BQ to finish 2nd in the Heisman. The whole world was giving it to Troy Smith since midway through the season. I haven't seen McFadden play yet this year, so I wasn't expecting for him to finish that high.
Having not seen McFadden play, you should know that he is the best QB Arkansas has. I think he completed about 98% of his passes, and most for touchdowns. I agree, however, that Quinn is the best we'll face this season. That being said, Jason White was the best we had faced one night in New Orleans. Things didn't go so well for him! But, IMHO, I don't think our defense is the same attacking defense it was that year. It is an awesome defense, but we don't have the blitz schemes we had back then. That was Muschamp's baby.
