Out of 116 Division I Schools, LSU is: OFFENSE #30 in Total Offense #34 in Rushing Offense #50 in Passing Offense #27 in Scoring Offense #45 in Pass Efficiency #104 in Third-Down Conversion Percentage DEFENSE #115 in Total Defense #37 in Rushing Defense #116 in Passing Defense #87 in Scoring Defense #96 in Pass Efficiency Defense #110 in Sacks #108 in Tackles for Loss SPECIAL TEAMS #1 in Net Punting #2 in Punt Returns #114 in Kickoff Returns # 41 in Punt Return Yardage Defense N/A in Kick Return Yardage Defense TEAM #78 in Turnover Margin #110 in Fewest Penalties Per Game #112 in fewest Yard Penalized per Game LSU certainly will get better, but these opening-game numbers are grim.
All of ASU's kickoffs were downed right? Does that mean over a one or two game period, two Division 1 teams amassed negative yardage on kickoffs?
One was returned in the fourth quarter, did not make it back to the ten yard line tho. Scored anyways on the drive.
Did you happen to notice who is #115 in pass D after one game? One hint: can't spell suck with out it. One-game stats mean squat. I wonder if their fans have gathered the pitchforks and torches as quickly as ours seem to.
When you take all of your starters out and basically let the inferior opposing team roll up yards against your 2nd/3rd string D, the stats that get produced are extremely misleading. See 55-24 victory over Arkansas in 2003.
only 13 of those 116 teams played a team ranked higher as high as asu (and i guess half of them were at home). although most of them have played two games.
How many of those 116 teams had to start the season out with the after effects of Hurrican Katrina still lingering? How many had to open their season on the road with a top 15 team, whom had an extra game under their belt?
