ask and ye shall receive ....... man, some of the proposed changes are going to really come into play, especially for Special teams units:
That's great news. Not unexpected, but great nonetheless. These rules should have never been passed in the first place. Thanks much.:thumb:
It will make recruiting a good kicker all more important. You thought special teams were important already. LSU has always had great kickoff coverage so I think this rule would benefit us. They should have went about it this way to begin with. They were just looking for a quick fix last season and didn't even consider any other options.
Just think, it'll give Trindon more opportunities to take it to the house now :thumb: . And our coverage teams are always good, so it should help us.
Play clock starts when ball is handed to the kicker on all free kicks......seriously? So if you kick a field goal to go ahead with 15 seconds left pretty much the game is over. It takes those guys 30 seconds to set the ball up until they finally kick it. That rule is awful unless I'm reading it wrong.
For one, doesn't a free kick only come after a safety? Also, I think the play clock is the one right behind the goal posts, correct? Different from the game clock, I thought.
It should have been expected. I posted that they were considering it over 2 weeks ago. http://www.tigerforums.com/showthread.php?t=49247&highlight=NCAA+clock+rules Glad somebody posted the actual proposed changes, but I figured it was coming.
Not that it matters for much but, that would be twice now that the year after a rule basically cost LSU the game, it was reversed and had a short life of one year. The missed extra point at Auburn and then this year, if these rules aren't in place, they have at least a couple of more plays at the end of the game from the 5 yard line. Oh well.
