WEll, I have about 10-12 games under my belt 6 online. I have determined that NCAA 2004 sucks. Well let me rephrase LSU stinks on this game. Now let me preface this, I have been playing EA football both college and NFL since 92 (Madden 92 etc etc) SO I am not new to this. However when I play LSU I am lucky to get 1 yard of rushing a game unless I take Hurley up the gut for 4 yards. (My first 3 games I was -30 yards rushing) Our defense cannot stop anyone... Have Option ?? Will travel. Our secondary is fantastic (Go figure). Avg 3 picks a game, but usually people realize just run the ball. Bottom line any running play I try. Its a loss of 2 yards. I tried all 4 RB's No one has the speed to get outside and the middle is just bodies. I can work Clayton pretty good but after a QTR anyone worth their salt realizes that and I am forced to move elsewhere. Needless to say I am winless with LSU however I have two wins with K-State beating an undefeated guy. I dont want to play K-State, I wanted to play LSU.... Unless someone can tell me how to run the ball because it is so dramatically different then the 10 previous years I give NCAA 2004 For Game play and Features - An A For enjoyment - An F because LSU has a tough time beating Northern Iowa As a side note the 3 games I was winning, the rat bastard ended up quitting. I hate that.... (For example I beat Arizona last night 28-21....)
try adjusting the A.I. sliders. I have it adjusted almost perfect for me. I can get about 100 rushing a game.
Does that work Online ???? I will try it. I am not looking for 200 yards rushing, just some sort of balanced attack... I mean If I run on 1st I am 2nd and 14 everytime. I will take 60 yards at this point, just so I can mix it up. All I can do is throw curl patterns to Clayton, Hurley up the middle or hope a deep throw works out. Reminds of the days of Rondell Mealy getting hammered in the backfield every down.
i don't know if it works online. i have teh PS2 version, but I'm not playing online, I'm playing a Dynasty though.
Try running the counter lead, HB lead, or HB tackle out of the I-Form normal. I have been running these plays and Addai is up for the Heisman on these plays alone. Running sweeps and options does not work on this game. Corners for EVERY team on the game are too fast.
I have had pretty good success with those three plays as well as the HB draw, lead, and tackle out of the ace slot formation. The only option play I have had success with is the speed option in whatever shotgun formation has only two receivers. The key is just to be patient. In previous years, you could usually just dart up to the line, and usually you would get a hole. With this one, you kind of have to wait and see if there will be a hole, then decide to stick with the call, or take it to the outside. It gets a LOT easier in year 2. On my dynasty, Edwards is a 91 with speed of 90 and a pretty high break tackle, and Wilkerson is a 99. Wilkerson helps running those draws big time. I also convinced Clayton to stay for his senior season, so he came back a 99, too.
come on guys. my girl went to pick up the game for me yesterday and I spent all of last night playing it. I am playing on All American with default sliders. and I like it that you actually have trouble moving the ball. Looks like EA has definately improved the DB A.I. and the overall defense A.I. which is a good thing. Plus I like the new play action camera that is hella awesome. I got my first sports illustrated cover when I beat Auburn 31-17 and that was hella cool too.
Im just going to pick and choose different formations and make up my own playbook. I used to play with the west coast book, but it has changed drastically in its latest incarnation.
