Looks like N.O. will be hosting the game as planned. Billy Hunter executive director of player association is in the city today. He was the one who made the statements and then retracted them after the threat of litigation. These comments by David Stern are encouraging: http://www.nola.com/newslogs/tpsports/index.ssf?/mtlogs/nola_tpsports/archives/2007_03.html#242546
If NO can handle the Essence Festival, it can handle the NBA All-Star game. And its not uncommon for a representative to visit a city prior to finalizing plans for a large conference or function. This is normally done 1-2 years in advance, and happens all the time. It would be out of the ordinary to schedule a function, site/facilities unseen.
They should have the game in New York. :hihi: They can't even handle a bunch of high school kids. http://sports.yahoo.com/top/news?slug=ap-madisonsquaregarden-brawl&prov=ap&type=lgns
The funny (or sad) part is the game was still going on as the fights were breaking out in the stands.
Guys, guys....the other day....I walked from the Riverwalk to the New Orleans Arena....and get this....IM STILL ALIVE!
