Yes, I guess anyone can push a pedal. But, can you control that big machine, without letting up. Anyone can swing a bat, and run, and shoot a basketball. But it takes talent to do it better than most.
I guess Lance Armstrong is not an athlete since it was his bike that one all those Tour de France races. Anyone can hit a tennisball, anyone can throw a football or baseball, you're pointing out the one easy thing about the sport. Fact is while that pedal is pushed to the floor, (probably) no one here could steer that car at 180+ mph with hitting the wall, especially with 42 other cars bumping you out of the way.
Lance's physical exertion directly impacted what his bike did. Jeff Gordon's lead foot is not the force behind the car travelling as fast as it does. If NASCAR would force all drivers to use Flinstone cars then I will call NASCAR a sport :hihi:
Whether NASCAR is a sport, or the drivers are athletes, has been debated a lot. I'm not out to change anyones opinion, because a lot of what is said on both sides have merit. I was just stating mine. I have tried to drive one of them cars. It's tough. So did they kick Mickey out of Daytona.
Looks like Toyota is really ticked off that Waltrips team was caught cheating. Supposed to be an anouncment later today. Could be bad for Waltrip racing.
I'm done with arguing. NASCAR is a sport to you but not to me. Nothing will change that. The non-lethal wrecks are still fun!
I respect that. I wasn't trying to be argumentative. And the non-lethal wrecks are cool to watch sometimes.
Word is they gonna suspend the crew chief indefinately and Mickey may be able to run under a different number. Sucks for Toyota thought.
