In 2000, Nader also proposed abolishing all our land forces (Army and Marines) and abolishing the Navy, in favor of a "light, rapid-response" border security and peacekeeping unit that, when not serving at the UN's beck and call, would make sure illegal aliens coming into the U.S. from the Mexican border would have water to drink as they did so. Coast Guard patrols of seaports would also be all the sea force we need. National defense would be handled only by the Air Force using "unmanned robot interceptors" armed with lasers (the fact that such weapons technology currently does not exist was never addressed). Of course, the United States would have nothing to do with chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. Very similar to the platform of former Democratic presidential candidate Dennis "Mind Control Satellites" Kucinich, and like John Kerry's voting record for his first two terms in the Senate.
Good thing he has no chance of getting elected. Otherwise we would all have to start growing long beards and get fitted for turbans. On the other hand maybe my ex wife would look better in a burka.
